Installation and Configuration

Download and install the jrImport module on a JR5 test site. You can then check out all the options under its Global tab.
Basically, you can select whatever you want to import, so yes, you need to import artists, members and users first, then you can run it again just selecting songs, or whatever.
You can filter out artists/members with no image and/or no uploads. It doesn't check for inactivity but that can be simply added to the script. I could advise you on how to do that.
Artists/members on a cluster are ok - it'll find them.

So goto https://cloud.digitalocean.com/support and create ticket with ‘BLACK50 EXISTING’ as the subject.
Within seconds I had an email with instructions to credit my account with $25 and they'll match it.
Seems a good deal to me.
(Hope this is not because they're having cash flow problems )

jrImport Bug

A bug in the jrImport module has been found where after import, profile item counts may not match the actual number of items. This has been fixed in version 1.0.5, now downloadable from the Jamroom Marketplace -

If you have already imported your JR4 site to JR5 you can check this by look at one of your profile item pages using the Elastic skin and seeing whether the item count in the stats section (bottom left) matches the actual number of items showing. If so, V1.0.5 also includes a small script to re-align these counts.

When logged in as admin, enter http://www.mysite.com/import/align_profile_counts and click on the button, and things should get fixed up.
