Yeah, its just a setting in the module.

Be mercyless on new users. If it even smells like spam, delete the profile. In the email from the spam module you get their user name and their email address and their location so if you see:
username: "Derrick_Jones"
email: fongduckdong123@gmail.com
location: vietnam

its suspicious because the name and the other details don't seem congruent, keep an eye on them. Others we see are
username: "EasyEssayWriting"
email: your-essays-cheap123@gmail.com
location: india

You just KNOW they're going to spam you.

Single sign on through another site/platform?

Using Jamroom

Yes its possible. There are many ways to do it, some more difficult than others.

The easiest is to use something like the jrOneAll module and enable the social media sign-on buttons so the user can use their Facebook, Google, Twitter or other account to sign in to both sites.

From there the complexity increases.
* Sign on to one creates an account on the other and logs you in. Both sites have all the information and updating info on either keeps the other up to date.

my-url.jamroomhosting.com and my-url.org are the same site, just 2 ways to access it. Its fine, you understand that my-url.jamroomhosting.com is not a sneaky site trying to pretend its something its not.

If you are recommending users to go to that site, then its probably best to turn SSL off and just use the HTTP:// version then no warning will show.

The intended purpose of jamroom hosting providing the my-url.jamroomhosting.com was this:
* A site exists that is running some other system, wordpress maybe. And the owner of that site wants to move over to Jamroom but it will take a while to get all the conversion done. Their site is currently on my-url.org and they dont want to change that because there are lots of visitors going there at the moment.

They can use my-url.jamroomhosting.com to build the new site, then when they think its ready they can change the name servers to point to jamroomhosting and make the domain primary then the transition will be smooth.

Its telling you that my-url.jamroomhosting.com is not my-url.com You can only generate an SSL certificate for a domain that you own and since you dont own jamroomhosting.com the SSL cert is not valid for there.

So if you do intend to use my-url.com then make that the primary domain and the SSL will work, if you dont, then disable SSL and access the site on http:// instead of https://

You'll want to make sure your skins templates are up-to-date. If you're using a custom skin, try changing to a default jamroom skin thats been un-altered and see if the issue exists there.

Here on jamroom.net we use email validation along with the 'Spam Blocker' module. Whenever a new user signs up and posts anything that contains a link outside the site all admins get notified.

When we check it if it looks like spam we go to:
* Dashboard -> whos online
locate the spammer and click LOG OFF, then BAN IP, then
* DASHBOARD -> USER BROWSER -> BLOCK
* DASHBOARD -> USER BROWSER -> DELETE (choose user account and profile)
That will delete their account and all posts they have made.

If the link is to somewhere I often paste that users credentials in that sites "contact us" box along with a message something like

To let the owners know. A lot of the time they've hired an "SEO expert" who's trying to use your site as link validation to improve their rankings.

There's no other reason they'd post stuff like "Hey I love this article, (link to essay writing site)".

only in the Timeline and only in some skins. Its the @ button at the top of a users profile that will show all timeline posts they are mentioned in.

A module could be built to make it work in other locations by scanning the contents then building a list.

Sure, anythings possible. You'd just need to figure out what info you want, then where you want to display it then its just a matter of figuring out the right templates to adjust.
