Database errors

Installation and Configuration

sure, send me the details to a ticket if you like: support at jamroom dot net along with some login codes to your site.

And if possible steps to trigger the activity log entry, that way I can understand when its fixed.

Thanks.

Probably this software. :) Just need to understand what it is you're expecting to happen, then figure out how to set things up.

By "build their own trees" you mean they can add people's profiles to the system. ok, got that. From that point Im not sure.

If a person they were wanting to add to the system already exists in the system are you wanting them to be able to edit that person that someone else has put there? If YES, then make all of the users 'Profile Admin' users. If NO then maybe what you're after is a separate Genosis install for every person that signs up.

Are the users who are able to have their own trees people you know and trust or unknown people from somewhere on the internet?

How To Make Page Open On Specific Tab

Using Jamroom

Its not impossible, but its also not currently simple.

Those tabs are javascript locations, so they only show when javascript is run.

this javascript:
jrSiteBuilder_load_tab('37', '1', '535') // AmeriCymraeg
jrSiteBuilder_load_tab('37', '1', '528') // Recipies
So if there was something in one of your templates, say header.tpl, or in a "Template Code" widget on the page that had a way to pick up something from the URL and fire the appropriate code to open the tab, then that would make it possible.

Pretty sure there is no code currently in place to do it as is.

Guessing what you're after is something like:
https://americymru.net/st-davids-day#book-sale
https://americymru.net/st-davids-day#recipies
.....

here on jamroom.net when a new user signs up and they post a link somewhere to an off-site URL the whole team gets an email. "an offsite url has been detected". The URL is clipped so their post becomes:
".... Yeah, I agree, checkout this link (offsite URL clipped) ....."

So there is no gain on their part and we come along delete and ban them as soon as we get the email.

I use the WHO'S ONLINE tool in the dashboard to see if they are still online, if they are I click "Log them out" to kick them out, then delete the account and ban the IP.

Seams to work ok for here at jamroom.net.

Jamroom CMS powers this site, so you have the same features available for your site too. :)

You could make any user an admin user, that would allow them to have the same level of usage as you have. Or you can set their level as a Profile Admin and they will have full access to the profiles, but not to the ACP area where all the setup is done.

How are you hoping to have it work?

--edit--
sorry forgot the docs link to change user level:

Docs: "What is a User account? -> User Group"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/jamroom-admin-handbook/2982/what-is-a-user-account#user-group

Quote:
The different user level options are:
Standard User: a normal user account in your system - can modify items they have created only.

Profile Admin: can modify users and profiles and items created by any user on the system. Has access to the Dashboard .

Master Admin: full access to all system areas including the Admin Control Panel and Dashboard .

Trying to verify with Bing

Using Jamroom

Go with #2 its the easiest.

then go to:
ACP -> SKINS -> YOUR SKIN -> TEMPLATES -> meta.tpl -> MODIFY

and squeeze it in just before the close of the /HEAD tag.

Then activate it and go look at the home page of your site, hit ctrl+u and see if what you added appears. If it does, then go tell bing to re-check.

If you havent used the TEMPLATES system before, there is a bit of fiddling to ACTIVATE the template, so make sure you read this carefully if it isnt coming out in the source:

Docs: "Altering a Modules Template"
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/jamroom-developers-guide/1051/altering-a-modules-template

Thoughts? ummm, hows this: The actual spammers are just renting a virtual server in india/poland/wherever and they actually live just down the road from you.

The reason they are logging in to your site is because some dude paid a $5 SEO service for 10,000 links and they're trying to sneak links into your site so they only have 9,999 left to post before they get their share of the $5. :happy-11:

Whats the actual issue? is it the fake accounts existing that's troubling you, or the content they are posting?

Is the 'Spam Blocker' module not helping?
