Jamroom Developers

Ok thanks Brian, I'll give that a try.

Profiles not showing in profile or account browser after 5.1.27 core update.

Using Jamroom

Unlikely to be related, but this had me tearing hair out earlier this week so I'll mention it just in case you use Adblock plus or similar:

I've found some fields not appearing correctly (specifically a field named "googleplus") and found the reason to be Adblock plus, a Firefox extension which is installed in my browser.

If you are using an adblocker and the field/item exists in the html but is hidden, try disabling the extension for the site or page. Firefox > Tools > Adblock plus > Disable on yoursite.com.

Webmaker Module

Archived

The ujWebmaker module imports Webmaker Makes as Jamroom items and embeds them into the site.

Webmaker is a Mozilla project which allows people to make (and remix) interactive items of many types:
https://webmaker.org/

Functionally, the module is similar to jrYouTube. It isn't quite ready for release yet, but if your users use Webmaker.org are you are interested in testing it, please let me know below, by email, or via PN.

Thanks!

Use Smarty function to make installation simpler

Profile Badges

This is a suggestion for an improvement.

Rather than admins having to put all the html/smarty into their template, it would be better to have that taken care of by a smarty function. So instead of the large code block needing to go into the template they'd just add something like:
{myBadges_display badge=$quota_myBadges_badge_type}
It might also be best if the setting were a profile setting rather than quota, so that profiles within the same quota could have different badges.

Lang strings to javascript, make my module js lang aware

Jamroom Developers

I have a module, ujLifeStreams, which is using a jquery plugin with a fair bit of lang (english) coded into the many js files. (the many lang string options for "posted to facebook", "created a marketplace item on jamroom.net", "updated wikipedia", etc)

I'd like to make the module fully translateable and get the lang strings into the ACP. At the moment I think that my best way forward is to write a js language array to the javascript_footer_function and change the jquery plugin js to use those variables, it looks possible.

Are there any shortcuts towards doing this (I haven't noticed any but always worth asking) or is there anything existing I should look at which might show a better way?

Thanks for the feeds out of jamroom.net - I was sure they'd be there and bingo, they were. Perfect.

Gratuitous screenshot alert, but notice the jamroom.net service in the middle. A jamroom.net profile is now a peer to a fb, twitter, github profile, etc. Which I think is pretty cool, and worth a mention :)

Mobile Skin Redirect

Design and Skin Customization

I agree, some things will not work at all on mobile: The screen is too small.

And that's what the media queries and device detection are for - making things "not there" on the desktop. (or showing different things to people with screen space and processor)

You only need one website for that though, it's more complicated enough as it is without having 2 websites to take care of.

Mobile Skin Redirect

Design and Skin Customization

CSS 3 has you covered.

Just make the skin modern (mobile first), forget multiple sites and cluster servers (complicated, unnecessary, administrative nightmare). Check out css 3 media queries and jr5 device detection functions.

Jamroom gives you a working mobile site out of the box.

If you don't break it, you won't need a custom cluster server module to fix it.
