Groups

Suggestions

Hey Guys

Since most of the ning users are creating groups on one profile and locking down creation on others to give them the frontend appearance. How about adding the same feature yous added to the issue tracker module, a setting to allow others to create groups on a single profile?

Sending Message To Group members

Design and Skin Customization

Yes be able to control by quota as like every other module is crucial and then site admins can decide at their leisure how to set it. If there was also a max invites per day by quota it would be good too.

Just a question does this invite module provide a generic invite to site option?

brian:
So we can definitely develop systems to do this (we actually already have), but we've not come up with a solid way to handle it to prevent spam (other than possible forcing all notices to be reviewed by an admin).

Just a thought but how about tying it into the profile daily limits and then for standard members this could be set to a very low number.

I am torn on this aswell but would like to see an invite module at some stage, openinviters integation is broken. For invites you could allow the number of invites per day/week to be limited and that would help reduce spam.

Upgrading YouTube to newest version 1.2.0

Announcements

thanks I went throgh all this, got my api key added it to module but when I click on YouTube Search button all I see is this

Youtube has changed their API. Steps need to be taken by this sites administrator to make this module work again.
See here: Connecting to the YouTube v3 API

Even through I have pasted the api key into the modules global config option.

Profile Tweaks

Using Jamroom

Yes when using a skin purely to change the profile there should be no dependencies on templates existing. If someone wanted to override some area of a default skin then sure they are free to add template files in.

Hope that makes it clearer

Profile Tweaks

Using Jamroom

Me and Brian discussed this in PM before and when I raised it he said something weird was going on. Basically if a skin is purefuly for a new profile layout it shouldnt require any other templates and should check the default skin folder for those.

The reason behind this is if you use profile tweaks today, you have to set up the menu in multiple templates, set your header across multiple etc etc.

Profile Tweaks

Using Jamroom

Hey

Following the latest update I had hoped from the changelog

Version 1.3.3:
- Bug Fix: Check to see if the include skin file exist before requiring it.

that it sorted the issue with skins still needing the header.tpl, footer.tpl, meta.tpl, header_menu_desktop.tpl and header_mobole_menu.tpl files rather than checking the default skin folder for these.

This all means that currently we have to include and rework all those templates where in theroy all we should need is the profile templates.

To recreate this? Delete the above files from a skins directory, set the skin as your profile skin and you will see errors.

Module Specific Comments

Design and Skin Customization

Thanks Michael only tried the template code so far but that works like a charm.

On the module point, since I will be searching multiple modules ID's would it be better just to stick with template code?

ie Events section will search jrEvent, polls, videos etc
