Suggestion and Also how to make the first forum post highlighted and sticky

02/08/15 03:38:24PM, by John Bizley

I have done this in a fashion but would like to make this better. So when you go to a forum category then choose a forum within it you have the discussions as we do here which is fine but if lots of posts have been added the original forum topic get's a little lost. I know it's always the first post at the top of the list but this I think should stand out against all the replies. Also it would be nice if this had an option to be made 'sticky' or not so when scrolling down through the replies...

What links can logged in users and passing visitors see and use? (SSL URL or non-SSL) x...

Here at ACP >> Users >> Global Config >> Site settings I see this setting. "Checkbox: Create SSL URLs, SSL Certificate Required! Checking this option will cause local non-SSL URLs that are embedded in text items to be shown as an SSL url for logged in users. Default: off" What does checking this box this mean for logged in users and ordinary site visitors? I can only understand this instruction in a very general way. I can see that it has something to do with how people...

NGINX and JR

11/16/13 07:14:35AM, by jimmyk

Since I haven't really seen anything relating to installing JR on NGINX I wanted to create a post to see if JR was able to be installed on NGINX. I totally realize the Apache is king... for now. But NGINX is really rising fast and IMHO is an amazing piece of software.

HA and scalability

10/06/14 11:31:13PM, by DannyA

In a previous post you said: "And for scaling, JR5 should work at this time - the only issue is the file system, so you would need to create a GlusterFS or NFS mount that allows your file system to be mounted across multiple servers." This seems like it would help with scaling but not high availability as multiple servers would rely on the same file system. However, if we are just talking about scaling, yes, if you can provide any details on configuring JR on multiple servers with the same...

Archive and Purge

11/16/17 08:59:18AM, by TiG

Given the size of our Comments, Discussion and Blog tables it would be advantageous to eliminate stale data. Considering this, we believe we can purge all records older than 6/1/2015. That would eliminate about 40% of the comments table. The idea of course would be to archive the data, delete and then reorganize the db. Ideally JR hosting has tested tools that can be safely used to perform this task. This post is to present our intent and get the best advice on how to proceed.

Search and Passwords

01/14/15 12:39:02PM, by jimmyk

I have a question and an idea. 1. Is there an ability to search by zipcode? I had a client who wanted me to setup a social site for them (dating) and wanted to know if searching by zipcode was available. I believe this was discussed on the old JR4 forum. I realize that I can just add a field for the zipcode and search for a specific zipcode, but is there a radius search ability - 10, 20, 30 miles - in JR5? 2. I read a lot of articles online about people using passwords that are on the...

SOAPI and Jamroom

07/17/19 08:46:11AM, by Matthias

Hi, it has been a while since I used jamroom. Now I was very much surprised where you guys came so far. Very nice. So I thought maybe I could switch to jamroom with a media project. This switch would need a SOAP integration so that I could fetch the media data from my seperated "digital asset management" system and bring it into jamroom.Media alike videos, photos, categorie lists etc ... This system on its side only supports SOAP and no Rest API. Has anyone allready used Jamroom together with...

quota_jrProfile_privacy_changes and admin

01/18/18 05:07:32AM, by SteveX

This has had me confused for a while: If a profile quota has quota_jrProfile_privacy_changes set to "off", admin still sees the privacy options in profile settings but changing the setting has no effect. Shouldn't that dropdown be disabled, or not appear at all? Or should admin be able to override that setting for a profile?

Nginx and Jamroom

10/22/15 10:42:51PM, by jimmyk

After searching the forum, I found only 3 topics on Nginx and all three were closed. I'm going to be switching to Nginx shortly and wanted to start this topic to see if there was any updated information available about running Jamroom on Nginx.
