Moving Genosis to new server
01/05/23 10:28:46AM, by arlomaniac
Hi Guys Anyone got any ideas how to do this sucessfully? We've tried and checked everything identical plus updated the config.php file with the correct host, user and password, BUT still getting a Forbidden 403 message for the fontpage and Internal Server Errors for any other. Can only find one other reference to changing server on the Forum and that under Jamroom and refers to folders we dont have in Genosis! Cheers Bill
Server reporting disk full....

Firstly, this *could* be an Arvixe screwup, but just to check I've done all I can this end.... Site is currently inaccessible (blank page), although just before it went down, I saw a couple of errors about not being able to write certain files to the cache. Visiting the cPanel generates this error: The filesystem mounted at /home/sitename on this server is running out of disk space. cPanel operations have been temporarily suspended to prevent something bad from happening. Please ask your...
Development Server Control Panel
10/18/14 12:53:09PM, by jimmyk
I finally have the time to setup a development server! Anyway, I downloaded VirtualBox and CentOS (the Linux distro I like) and got everything setup. The reason I'm posting is that I found a great free control panel to use for my dev server. http://centos-webpanel.com/ It's free and has a ton of options. One of the features I love the most is the ability to use just about any PHP version I want. Couple clicks and I'm using a newer or older version. Great for testing! It also comes...

Multiple installations on the same server
11/11/13 07:33:28AM, by maxcinsay
Hello, we have installed a version of jr4 ( http://r2rlive.com/) and a version of jr5 ( http://r2rlive.com/jr5_max/) on our server, we will be migrating everything soon. In the jr5 installation I can access the admin panel, get to the market place section but when I click on of the the modules to install it, I get redirected to http://r2rlive.com/index.php?t=artists (that happens with the free modules). The modules for sale take me to the 'update release system' screen (...

My server guy is thinking of upgrading from ext3 to ext4. He's wondering what the implications for Jamroom might be, if any.
Questions about managing own server
01/19/15 12:29:16PM, by Roy Simmons
Hi Guys, Firstly to say how impressed I have been by the professionalism of the JR folks we have been pestering by email . We are very close to a decision to migrate to JR. Our site paintmyphoto.net on ning 2 has over 100k photos and over 20k members. Paul and Brian have recommended a vps server, Brian has suggested the Linode 4gb which we are happy to go with. https://www.linode.com/pricing Another option as a server management novice, is to go managed, yet this is of course more expensive....
