Video stream in Safari

Jamroom Developers

OK weird - we'll see if we can replicate this.

Make my queue worker create other queue tasks, is this viable?

Jamroom Developers

Since a queue worker is already run offline I think you'd find the flow to be simpler to just have ONE queue entry that runs a series of functions - that way you can test each one and exit if needed. Trying to do it with a subset of queues could make it more complicated than needed.

Share buttons on audio with SHARETHIS

Design and Skin Customization

I think we're not doing a good job here of being clear. You do NOT need to add the share this javascript code. That's the entire point of the module is to make it so you do NOT have to do this. You just make sure the module is enabled, and it will automatically show up on the item detail pages. Our documentation is not going to cover how to do something you do not need to do.

So let's drop trying to add the share this javascript code anywhere on your site - you don't need to do it.

1) Log in to your Jamroom
2) Go to ACP -> Item Features -> Share This
3) Click on Quota Config
4) Check "Apply to All Quotas" and "Allow on Profile" and save changes
5) Reset caches

Share This will now appear on your item detail pages.

I know you're getting frustrated as you feel like we're not helping you, but this is pretty easy to setup. If you're trying to do something custom however, then let us know the end goal of what you're trying to so with Share This that is not supported by our module.

Video stream in Safari

Jamroom Developers

SteveX:
Yes, that's just about right. Logged in as admin or as the profile owner. And it doesn't stream when using Firefox or Chrome on an iPad.

Is it just the iPad it doesn't work on or do you also mean desktop Safari?

Video stream in Safari

Jamroom Developers

SteveX:
I'm still seeing this after updating to the beta core and profile.

Any thoughts as to what might be going on here?

Thanks

I'm not sure - let me make sure I understand the issue correctly:

1) You have a video on a private profile
2) The video streams everywhere but Safari (logged in as admin)
3) pasting the video URL directly into Safari works

Does that sound right?

Utility needed to delete missing media file link

Suggestions

Not sure what you mean by "missing media file links" - do you mean URLs your users have added into things like blogs that are now bad URLs?

jrCore_list results change when power user is logged in

Using Jamroom

The TinyMCE update has been problematic for some browsers, and I'm not sure why - you need to do a HARD refresh on your browser and it should work. Clearing cache also works. For some reason some browser (and only for some users) just won't load the new TinyMCE javascript properly.

Edit to add: This also seems to be mostly a Chrome issue due to how aggressively Chrome caches.

Error 403 - Forbidden only on signup

Using Jamroom

A 403 error comes from your server, so you have a .htaccess rule or server config in place that is blocking the signup.

Multiple Sub-domain Access to One JR Database?

Using Jamroom

PatriaCo:
Ultimately, it is all about the index page and the way it introduces the skin. So much is won or lost in gaining new members, based upon the few seconds that you have their attention, during that first impression (that first page). Being able to market based on interest (videos, music, blogs) is HUGE. JR is just so broad, it is impossible to market all the benefits, with just one landing page. Managing these from directories is fine, and I really want to stay on JRhosting.

It sounds like you just need different landing pages based on the incoming visitor? Is that correct? I'm not sure what the need is for different skins when you can setup different landing pages that should meet your need of getting a good first impression.
