it is safe to delete old module versions...right?

Installation and Configuration

soaringeagle:
because im running the beta modules and the core keeps a cache, and theres dozens of cores with dozens of caches its gobbling up all of my drive space quickly

The modules are pretty small - even with a lot of them it's only going to be a few megabytes. The core is about 10 megabytes, so each copy of the core will use that much space.

Yes - you can delete old versions.

bug many activity links link to domain only

can't yet be certain, but i believe the newest jrimage is not properly deleting cached images even when you use clear image cache
i am manually deleting everything inside data/cache just to see if thats the case

I'm not aware of any issues with this - the only thing I could think is that it may be timing out if your directory is large enough and doesn't delete the files very quickly. I can check that out.

CRI: Query Error since updating to 5.3.0b9

Using Jamroom

iamtimbo:
Hi there again - Happy New Year!

Just wondering if there is a temporary workaround for this, as at the moment I can't do anything very much on the site that doesn't cause the error. If nothing else, I need to be editing profiles, and it won't allow me to do that at the moment.

Cheers!

Update to the latest User Accounts module and this should be fixed. If you can't log in then you'll need to manually go into your MySQL and change the "session_data" column in the jr_jruser_session table from "TEXT" to "MEDIUMTEXT".

Let me know if that helps.

Activity Timeline Suggestion

Suggestions

Ceri:
Also....would it be possible to include a status update field in the activity timeline widget so that people can update directly from the front page (assuming that the timeline activity widget is displayed there). I have it on the front page of my new JR site but I feel it would be much more convenient if people could update directly from there without having to go back to their home or profile pages.

The problem here is that for master, admin, power and multiple profile users, their "profile_id" is NOT set when viewing a skin page, so the system would not know which profile to post to. When creating items the user needs to be ON the profile they want the item created for - that's very low level in Jamroom and how it works.

I thought this was stored in the user datastore, but I'm not seeing it - I will check it out.

Do "Private Notes" have an outbox?

Using Jamroom

The way Private Notes are setup on JR really negates the need for a "sent box" - all your notes are visible in order like @strumelia pointed out.

Unless having a sentbox gains us features that users are clamoring for, I would prefer to keep it like it is - adding extra tabs or sections will add an additional layer of confusion for users.

Using Jamroom

It is designed for use in the OG tags when sharing via ShareThis - it's not been designed as a "general" URL shortener.
