core update crashes

Installation and Configuration

The other one to watch out for is "SymLinksIfOwnerMatch" - if you have that enabled, then it means symlinks are followed only if the destination is owned by the same user that owners the symlink. This means if you are running Apache has the "httpd" or "www" user, and you upload the files as root (or another user) and you do NOT chown them to www/httpd, then symlinks are not followed:

Installation and Configuration

Make sure FollowSymLinks is enabled in the Options directive for the domain (it is enabled by default):

core update crashes

Installation and Configuration

None of the "PHP Notices" are issues. Here is your problem:

No matching DirectoryIndex (index.html,index.php,sitemap.xml,modules/jrCore/router.php) found, and server-generated directory index forbidden by Options directive

You are missing this file:

modules/jrCore/router.php

OR your apache2 config is configured for the wrong web directory.

I apologize that you're having issues - I would highly recommend that before you "go live" you find a system administrator that knows what they are doing and can fix these types of issues. There's no reason this should be more than a 4 minute event - certainly NOT a 4 hour event.

Installation and Configuration

No reason to be down for 2 hours - your sys admin should be able to identify the issue in 2 minutes:

/var/log/apache2/error_log

Extend proxima api

Proxima

Thanks for the update!

1) the Proxima User module does this for you

2) You can retrieve user info using Proxima User

3) I would recommend just using the Proxima Data module to "store" playlists in a Playlist collection. then incorporate the actual player logic on your mobile app - that's where you want that to be anyway.

For caching, Proxima will handle all that for you - it has support for multiple Mmecache servers if you really need it as well.

Hope this helps!

Can group owners add a document to one of their group's pages? If so, how?

Ning To Jamroom

I don't think that "embedding" documents is something we would support - there's just too many variables at play to try to create some sort of "viewer" and maintain security.

Here's what I suggest:

- if it is a TEXT document (i.e. .doc, etc) just cut and paste the CONTENT as a Group Page.
- if is something else, attach the file on the first COMMENT on the Group Page.

Let me know if that helps.

Log containing user information

Using Jamroom

Eddy:
Is there some sort of a log on jamroom that keeps the user information when they join or login? Like ip address, version of os, which browser etc?

Some of my users when uploading a profile picture for the first time, the photo gets corrupted and shows the wrong size on the site, that info above would help me figure out why this is happening to some users.

Please let me know

Thanks

Eddy

No - that type of information is not stored - you can go into the Data Browser for User Accounts and see the type of info that is kept.

Hope this helps!

Installation and Configuration

If you get 500 internal server errors, you have a server issue.

I have 15+ domains I run with Jamroom and never see this, so I would suspect you have larger server issues going on.

Some users Notification settings being reset to all OFF...?

Using Jamroom

brian:
Note that "My Posts" are posts that YOU started.. not all the ones you have participated in.

Quoting myself here - that does not appear to be the case - something isn't right there. For now you can just use your link under your name on posts to view your posts until I can see what is up.
