Email Confusion

Jamroom Hosting

radiomusicgroup:
@brian I am using the real domains on both accounts.

All3 of your domains are correctly setup with email - they all show "Email Setup" and "Email Delivery Log" which means they are configured correctly in Mailgun - you should be good to go. Note that one of your domains has not been switched to your domain from the jamroomhosting.com domain, so that one will not validate until you update name servers.

If you feel there's an issue please open a ticket with us and we can check it out.

Thanks!

Does this mean my server is down?

Jamroom Hosting

The network issues in the Atlanta DC are resolved, and your server should be accessible again.

Guess I should have selected the Jersey data center? My luck. I feel like Charlie Brown at trick-or-treat.

To be honest this is the first time I've seen an issue with Atlanta - New Jersey and Fremont both had issues at some point in the last year. To Linode's credit, this is NOT a normal occurrence - they are rock solid 99.9% of the time, but occasionally network issues happen (which appears to be the case here).

Dazed:
Brian - Just a thought here. After the user signup is complete, could you run a search from the ban items? I went to change the profile to "Inactive" and had "Your entry contains the following text which is not allowed: "berkeley taxi"". So I am not able to change it to inactive because it is listed in the ban section.

So considering this, what is to stop Jamroom from scanning the Ban Items after a social signup and setting a profile to inactive if a match is found? We can then send an email to the Admin and User.

Thoughts?

Sure - pretty much anything could be setup to work specifically how you want it to work - it's not setup to work that way right now though.

Email Confusion

Jamroom Hosting

radiomusicgroup:
I'm starting up our 2 sites this week and I have a test group of dj's that have signed up for access that I had to approve. I set the system up for admin approval.

So I went in and approved their profiles. And then I found out that I then must "activate" their user account. (Seems redundant once the profile was approved.

There's no need to do this - are you approving them from the dashboard?

My issue seems to be that no email notifications really went out to anyone.

So my question is with JR hosting and the mailgun account is there some clearly detailed step by step documentation that helps me figure out what I am supposed to do to set email up for all of the domains in my JR hosting account to be able to send out things like activation notices?

Are you using your REAL domain or the jamroomhosting.com domain? You have to be using your real domain before you can send email.

Quote:
It all seems quite overwhelming and I guess I thought that since the JR hosting integrated with mailgun (or maybe I misread or misunderstood that feature ) that it was automatically set up.

It is - all you need to do is enter your Mailgun API key.

There's nothing for me to recommend without know what the actual issue is you are seeing. Note that you can view ACTUAL delivered email in your domain settings -> Email log.

Hope this helps!

I don't think your server is down, but it looks like there is something going on in the Atlanta data center - another hosting customer has also contacted us about it and we have a ticket open with our provider - we'll get you back online as soon as they let us know what is up.

Thanks!

p.s. make sure for the fastest response that you open a ticket with us for any hosting issues instead of posting to the user forum. Thanks!

Yeah I see that as well here, and for some reason that form fields has been purposefully disabled in the form designer - I'm not sure why so I will check it out.

where's the jrUser 'bot button' code update located?

Using Jamroom

I just reload the User Accounts module and reset your caches and it is showing now - not sure why it wasn't previously, but you should be good.

Hope this helps!

Not yet. I am hoping my post will inititate one. If this continues, I would almost prefer to drop OneAll and just go with regular signups. At least I can control it better that way, at the loss of the user experience though.

OK - let us know if they get back to you.
