Yeah there is - it uses several things under the hood (ip tracking, user account, agent and cookie) to try to prevent it from being gamed. Of course nothing is 100% fool proof, but it should work good.

Thanks for the update - glad to see things are working for the most part now. I know it's hard to use a second account once you're "known" under your first, but hopefully the setup works well enough that it won't be an issue.

Oops...batch edit mistake. D'oh!!!

Using Jamroom

And just to add - it is almost NEVER a good idea to use the batch editor. You run the risk of changing values that should not be changed, but of course we leave that up to you to decide if the risk is worth it.

Oops...batch edit mistake. D'oh!!!

Using Jamroom

Strumelia:
Ok I wanted to clear out like 147 Comments of the Comment Wall of a particular Group. I went into Batch Edit, under group comment count, and I changed the number from 147 to 0 for that group only, and hit 'update'.

This does not clear comments - this simply changed the "comment count" field to 0. Comments are stored on the User Comments module datastore.

I have no idea however WHY it appears to have deleted anything, since that batch edit is just going to do an UPDATE. My suspicion is that nothing was actually deleted, but somehow became "unlinked" in the DB. This is the first we've seen something like this, so hopefully we can replicate it here and get it fixed up.

Profile URL problem

Using Jamroom

White Agency:
We've got the 2 following users : 'John S.' (note the full stop) and 'John S'

When the URL to their profiles are generated the full stop is removed (as it should be) but this results in both having the same URL !!

The user should not be able to create an account with an existing account already using that URL - they should get an error on signup. The profile_url value is checked to ensure it is unique. Could it be that the profiles were imported and bypassed that check?

jrTracker update item shows wrong profile's tracker owners in dropdown

Using Jamroom

This should be fixed now in Issue Tracker 1.1.2 - update and let me know if that fixes it for you. Root cause was the select options were being saved to the Form Designer, which is why you were seeing the same ones over and over.

Hope this helps!

jrTracker update item shows wrong profile's tracker owners in dropdown

Using Jamroom

SteveX:
I see this on my jamroom.net profile tracker as well.

When I update an item the tracker owner dropdown offers me brian, michael, douglas, paul, unassigned.

The tracker project dropdown offers me The Jamroom Network, Genosis, Proxima, etc

Weird - I will check this out.

Thanks!
