Issue viewing site on Microsoft Surface

Using Jamroom

John Bizley:
Just wondering if there has been any more moving forward with the issue of viewing sites on a Microsoft Surface. The original topic I posted was closed so posting again about it.
It's all to do with the hamburger menu showing up as it thinks it's a mobile device which is making it near impossible to use correctly.

The menu icon (the "hamburger") will show/not show depending on screen resolution. What is the screen resolution of the surface? I don't own one (or even use Windows) so I am not sure how to test it at the moment.

Thanks!

New Sitebuilder: Pagination icons not showing

Using Jamroom

This requires a core update, so it may be a little bit longer before we can get this released - the area the code change is in can impact other modules, so we just have to test that everything is going to work great after the changes.

add function to DB Backup module...?

Using Jamroom

I'll be checking this out when I am back in the office next Thursday - I'm currently in the middle of Arizona and have had really sketchy connectivity.

CRI: Invalid template: page_begin.tpl, or template directory: jrCore

Using Jamroom

amistley:
I am not sure what the error was, but manually re-uploading the modules/jrCore directory fixed it.

Awesome - glad to hear that - it sounds like the previous upload may have been missing some files, and a re-upload fixed that up.

Thanks!

cannot post to forums when using the html editor (bug report)

Ning To Jamroom

Yep this should be good now on all modules - the recent core change (for security reasons) to the "printable" checktype plugin in Jamroom caused this issue - sorry for the hassle, but it was a change we had to make fairly quickly (since it could allow HTML in editor fields that was NOT allowed in the "Allowed HTML" section of the quota config) and there were a few straggler modules that we overlooked in the update. All those should be updated now, but let us know if you see any issues.

Thanks!

Profile Tweaks

Using Jamroom

I understand what Gary is getting at here, and I believe it is supposed to work this way, but the change that has been made to the Profile Tweaks is going to prevent it from working correctly so we will get this fixed up.

my (master admin) posts and forum replies dont show in activity

Ning To Jamroom

It's important to understand that if an admin is adding media or doing things on a profile that is NOT their "home profile", activity timeline entries will NOT be created - timeline activity only works if you are managing your own profile. For example, if you are a site admin and you go into one of your users blog posts and fix a typo, it is NOT going to create a timeline entry in your timeline OR the profile's timeline for the blog you fixed since you are not on your "home" profile.

URL Scanner setup

Using Jamroom

I don't believe you need to configure Allowed HTML Tags for URL Scanner - it will "just work". Make sure you have gone into the Core -> Quota Config and put a checkbox in the "Convert Media URLs (UrlScan)" option in Text Formatters for ALL your quotas and save.

Let me know if that helps.

CRI: Invalid template: page_begin.tpl, or template directory: jrCore

Using Jamroom

This sounds like the site is not functioning properly at the PHP level (that error means the core was not able to "read" the template) - make sure that the web user has access to read all the JR files, and make sure you're not running your site on a Windows server (JR requires a Linux server).

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks!

Cacheing media file in player.

Jamroom Developers

This is not something we have much control over - this is a function of the browser and is mostly "automatic". I will check that our headers are all there though to make sure the browser has the best chance of doing that though - I know we're all setup on images, but no so sure about the media streaming.
