In principle, can we place multiple search boxes on a single page using widget panels?

In principle, can we place multiple, different and independent search boxes on a single page using widget panels?

In principle, yes - I would not try it at this time with the current Site Builder - it would be better handled in the new site builder with it's widget setup. So let's revisit this after the new SB is released.

Thanks!

Translate feed

Genosis

silverwolf:
Hi sorry its again me. Good evenin all.

Where i can translate activity please?

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but you can translate the Activity Timeline module language strings in the ACP -> Users -> Activity Timeline -> Language tab (it works the same for all modules).

Hope this helps!

The New Site Builder Release Date?

Design and Skin Customization

We've worked really hard on this to try and make it a really smooth release - over the last couple days we've fixed up a number of outstanding issues, and I think it is almost ready. We're not going to get it released today, but certainly early next week.

We're going to initially release it in beta (like the current one) as we know there is likely going to be a lot of feedback on it.

So it's very soon now!

How exactly does "Enable Full Text Search" work?

Using Jamroom

researchcooperative:
When I searched for "search module" in the jamroom marketplace, nothing came up until I tried the Installed tab. Then I could learn that it is already installed by default as part of jamroom core.

However, in ACP, no search module appears as an obvious, distinct module. What we see when we look at the "Core" are:

1. Marketplace,
2. Support Center,
3. System Core,
4. System Tips.

To find the search module components I did a search on "search" in the search box at top of the ACP module menu, and was rewarded with a list of four modules each dealing with a different aspect of the search system:

1. Additional Search Fields
2. Enable Full Text Search
3. Index Result Count
4. Module Result Count

When you search inside the ACP, 3 areas are searched:

1) Module names - in this case you will see "search" is listed as a module if you search for "search"

2) Global Config items - this will find the word "search" in Global Config options

3) Tools - if there was a tool that had "search" in it's name, you would see it as well.

I've outlined in my screenshot what you will see - I think it is intuitive and am not sure how to make it more clear, but feedback is welcome.

Thanks!

Site Activity Feed Question

Design and Skin Customization

derrickhand300:
Thank you!
Any suggestions on how to make the RSS feed have the profile image also? ( like in the jr Activity feed)

I'm not seeing an image in the Activity Timeline RSS feed - is that something you added in?

Thanks!

Thanks - everything looks correct here, but it is not picking up the image caption and I see why - the Gallery needs to have a custom template created for this, since it does not use the standard "description" key. What's funny is thought this was already done, but have just checked it out and the template is not there.

I will get that added in for the next release.

This mean the OG tags are likely missing from the page. Do you have a URL to the page you are seeing this on?

Thanks!

The ShareThis module already does this (OG tags based on module), so that should be working (if you feel it is not let us know).

I think the only place missing right now is in Site Builder - but we will make sure the Meta Tag manager is updated to support it (once the new SB is out).

Thanks!

Should note that when you create content and add it to a FB page just testing or otherwise Facebook caches that information...so if you change it and want to add the url back to FB again- you need to run it through the Debugger tool- which tells FB to ignore the old cache and get a new one.

This is important to remember - FB is pretty aggressive at caching - when in doubt, try it on a "fresh" page - I've seen it remain cached even when run through the debugger.
