Profile Domains MOD

Off Topic

dvdpike:Is this MOD no longer supported? I haven't seen anything on this in awhile and it's still not offered.

Unfortunately we had to pull this module from the marketplace as it was difficult to maintain. Browsers are becoming pickier about loading mixed content (i.e. pulling data from the JR site + the mapped domain) which was causing us ongoing issues.

Sorry about that!

Delete Pend Requests

Using Jamroom

Dazed:Happy Thanksgiving Brian. Yeah something is definitely up. May be time for an upgrade.

Yep let me know if you're thinking about an upgrade - I know you're running on a fairly old server now. We might be able to set something up for comparable cost on JR hosting - ping me with a support ticket if interested :)

The problem with this approach is that when you NEED it (i.e. you are being flooded with requests) is also when it is going to hit your system the hardest - GEO look ups are not cheap (both in time and speed). The only real solution is to do it all queue based, and have the look ups throttled - but again, if you're getting hammered by hundreds of IPs then it's likely the queues will be behind and will not help you identify the IP origin of existing requests.

I like the idea I'm just not sure off the top of my head a good way to implement it.

Index_top.tpl won't edit

Design and Skin Customization

davej56:Even though I edit the file, and save it, it does not show edited to where I can select "active." The edited version of the document won't save.

That's weird - the results are saved to the database so it can't be a permissions issues. If I had to guess here, I would suspect there is actually a template error in your edit - and for some reason it is just not showing you the error. Try this:

- edit a template you have not edited yet - say the "404.tpl" - and make a change to a single character - i.e. change "not found" to "not found1". Save and see if they shows as modified. If it does, then it means for some reason there is an error in the template editing that is not showing.

Invalid Datastore

Installation and Configuration

This is a bug in the Follow Me skin - the followers module is not a datastore module, and you can only "like" an item that is a datastore item. In this case, the "like" is trying to be applied to the follow itself and not the "action" (timeline entry).

We have a tracker open on it and will get it fixed.

Jamroom Demo

Installation and Configuration

KANU:Is there anyway to import a jamroom demo site to my site, im having no luck getting my site to look like the demo sites....

The Jamroom Demo sites run at their defaults so you should have no issues getting yours looking like the demo.

Which demo are you looking at?

Gender problems

Genosis

I just pushed an update to the Genosis Core (version 1.7.0) - update to that and let me know if that looks better.

Thanks!

Gender problems

Genosis

I've just checked the code out and right now it requires a "spouse" link between the parents - so in this case make sure you have created a "Partner" (from your screenshots) relationship between yourself and Johanna - that should get it working. To do this, go to your profile and click the "add new spouse" link, then click the "Link to Existing Person" button in the upper right and select Johanna.

Let me know if that works.

Thanks!

Delete Pend Requests

Using Jamroom

Something is tying your DB up - it's not the delete requests - they are already heavily optimized (all the DS queries have been heavily optimized). 20-40 seconds means your server is either REALLY overloaded or something else has "locked" the database. If you have SQL backups running in a control panel you might want to check there as they will often lock tables while the backup is running.
