Issue with gallery title apostrophes (and merging gallery images)

Using Jamroom

blindmime:A user created a gallery called "God's Country".

I have a page which lists images from galleries with "2016 Calendar" in them and she wants to appear on that page. This is where I discovered the issue with changing the Gallery Title and that's been fixed.

She had created a few galleries with variations on the name "God's Country" so I wanted to merge them into one Gallery. But Jamroom doesn't allow me to simply edit the title of one Gallery to be the same as an existing Gallery and thereby merge the two. Please consider that, possibly. Not sure if it's a good idea, all things considered; but I thought I should be able to do that.

You can - just edit the image and you'll see the existing galleries are shown in the "Gallery" select and text field - you can choose a different gallery here.

Quote:So, while not being able to merge them that way, I went to the Batch Editor and changed the Gallery Titles to "God's Country 2016 Calendar". However, Jamroom now called the calendars "God\\\'s Country 2016 Calendar".

That looks like it is being double encoded - I will check that out.

Signup Hold Process

Suggestions

Dazed:I have spammers that are signing up through social media links and they are automatically authorized. This step bypasses the signup filters.

This is correct - the assumption is that if a user has already validated through Facebook/Twitter/whatever, then that means their email address is correct, and they would be able to validate using it on YOUR site.

Quote:What I would like is a module that would read the ban criteria prior to the being authorized. We could then send an email that the account is under review if it finds a match.

I could do the admin authorization but that is a pain and from what I have seen, that does not authorize the email. I could get mre spammers letting random people through.

Something like this may not be a bad idea, but I think you know this is a game that you're going to have to remain vigilant at - it's not like all spammers registers with the same email address from the same domain...

Song Slurper Lives Again?

Design and Skin Customization

Hi Ken - I'm not really sure what you mean by:

"Would it be possible to "slurp" all of my Jamroom's 128 bit MP3's into a folder for download?"

If it means what I think you are looking, that's not "slurping" - you just all your Jamroom images in one location to make it easy to download to your Sam Broadcaster - is that right?

To be honest with you there are VERY few sites doing what you are doing - in fact I know of only one other that is using Sam Broadcaster, so it's not going to make sense for us to build modules specific for that.

Let me know that helps.

Thanks!

galery download button strips extentions

Design and Skin Customization

soaringeagle:when i use the galery image download i get an extentionless file and have to rename it to add an extention .jpg

I'm not able to replicate this here - note that the file name you are prompted to download is the actual file name that was uploaded.

Public Trees

Genosis

jdellwo:Just trying your script and it seems very nice.

However, I can't figure out how to make a tree public. I found under User Accounts-Site Settings "Site Privacy". It is set to "Public(All Pages Visible)" but if you click on a name you only get "NOT FOUND" if you aren't logged in. If I paste a link to a tree I only see the first name.

How do I make it public?
Thanks, Joe

By default a Tree is public unless you make it private in the Tree Tools config. Most likely what you're seeing here is the "Public View Cutoff" - you'll only see profiles for ancestors born before that year.

Click on "Admin" and you'll see the public view cutoff - you can set it to whatever year you want.

Hope this helps!

New module help tab (in ACP) links to "Using Jamroom" Forum... Ok, but...

Using Jamroom

researchcooperative:... in the future, maybe it could link to a specific using module forum?

We have quite a lot of forums here, so I don't know if have 150+ module forums would help users find what they are looking for. Hopefully the new Help tab makes it easier to find documentation and other module specific info though - it's something we're working on improving (mainly through improving the search).

Hope this helps!

Troubleshooting delayed emails

Using Jamroom

There's nothing in Jamroom that makes it wait 6 minutes before sending an email to the local SMTP server. Something is misconfigured on your server OR you have ZERO traffic - since email is sent via a Queue, Queue's are processed when a web process spins up - if you have literally no hits on your site then the queue will not be processed.

forum extra paginations back...again!

Design and Skin Customization

soaringeagle:it seems to be with the mariadb version i have

Yeah you might try updating. There's nothing you can do at the code level to crash the DB server - if you see tables being marked as crashed it means the DB process is crashing/being killed and not properly closing the DB file. Check that you're not running out of RAM too.

soaringeagle:Also, there is a problem with JR_JRcore_forms table that constantly crashes that people can't login

That's an issue on your server - not a JR issue.
