questions about the "profile to import forums into"

Ning To Jamroom

just set that up to import new data in
so heres a few questions i have aboout this

1 it said select quoata this profile should belong to i selected admin but was unsure if thats the best option

2 it required a full url but my sites on a test domain i assume (but want to make sure) that this only matters for the import process and changing it to the real domain for the final "toppimg off" import shouldnt matter?

3 will this profile that was imported into be auto added to the menu or will i need to manualy do this

4 (1 i just thought of) will pages be able to be assigned to this profile

suggestions for photo grid page

Ning To Jamroom

i did replace my default imasge so that might not work as they get a default image

its fine if theres a bunch of the default images thats not the issue the issues the names are missing and even when an image is provided its often not helpful without a name
plus.. youd always want the members list to be complete with default imageds cause i welcome every new member when they join so having them in the list is nesacary especialy since many dont update the image right away

Question as to order of Groups on group page

Ning To Jamroom

Strumelia:
Ah, thank you! I will save this info and I'll probably wind up listing them by the most members as that has always made more sense for me and my members. That'll be great!

When you say it will be in the 'next release'- do you mean the next Core update, or do you mean the next update of a groups module, or the ningja skin- which new release would I be looking for to suggest to me that I could then use the member number sorting option? Merci beaucoup!

groups

but fromk what i see in the datastore it sghould already work

Ning To Jamroom

and in your example wouldnt that list the commentws within the groups?

well the codes are right there all you need to do is edit the template
its curently set to _item_id just find that and change it to any of the other options

scroll up he told you wich template to edit

and those are your options besides _created wich lists by date created or alphabetic listings by varios criteria like title or created by
everything you see in the data browser post i put up top
or certain hidden system values liked
_item_id _created _updated theres a couple more system wide values always start with _

google jrcore_list and u will find all the options but most of the ordering options are based onhe dataset of the module your working with
so go to that module, then tools, and click data browser

in the data browser you will see a few 'counts' with numbers those can be used to order numericaly high to low or low to high

and a couple liked title with text those can be used to sort alphabeticaly

1 sec ill find the system values again

_created
_updated
_user_id
_item_id
_profile_id

you can also order by ratings if you enable ratings wich could be used as a "most popular" listing

this page will help alot

right i agree that definateoly should have the names
as it is now just a bunchof images and many the "default" its pointless

the answers are

{jrCore_list module="jrGroup" order_by="_updated numerical_desc" pagebreak=10 page=$_post.p pager=true}

that is by latest activity

{jrCore_list module="jrGroup" order_by="group_comment_count numerical_desc" pagebreak=10 page=$_post.p pager=true}
that is by comment count
comment count and "most active' are virtualy the same thing are they not?

{jrCore_list module="jrGroup" order_by="group_member_count numerical_desc" pagebreak=10 page=$_post.p pager=true}
thats by member count

its not that hard to understAnd and you dont need to be insulting when i just wasted 3 hours finding the answer for you
