3 questions real quick

Ning To Jamroom

soaringeagle:
yea i understood all that just i sweat i uploaded our default profile image
somewhere to be used asthe profile image when none was selected and cant for the life of me find where that was i uploaded it
unless it was part of the install process but i dont think so

SE maybe go to your actual site *.com (not the cPanelX), then
Go to top menu for ACP, then go to the MODULES tabs in one of those areas (try them all, not sure), and look under USERS, then USER ACCOUNTS, then go to the IMAGES tab... not sure but I think that may be it to change the default profile pic, maybe globally. I'm guessing you might have to do it for each skin style and save it custom.

Lots of questions and issues being reported on the Ning forum

Ning To Jamroom

I should emphasize that excreators.com is entirely Troy's site, not mine. He's been very kindly helping me. But yes we want to use my current Ning2.0 to create a good sample network on JR to show other folks wanting to leave the Ning/Glam/Mode debacle. And if all goes well my hope would be to take it live.

Ken_Rich:
Awesome... Yes there is quite a bit of misinformation and speculation floating around over there. It's almost a full time job trying to communicate the real facts, when there is so much "noise"... I'll post this and see if that doesn't help a little...
Brian.. You might also want to check out (and possibly post in) a place called excreators.com. Comparisons are being made between different migration paths, but I don't think Jamroom is being given the type of attention it deserves. Perhaps they are unaware of the latest developments and future road map with "Ning to Jamroom" migrations...

Yep, it's getting really hard to hear anything.

Brian- and Ken- Yes Excreators.com has been where some of us unhappy Ning customers have been quietly investigating alternatives to Ning over the past year, and testing them....without the noise...lol. The site is run by Troy, the friend I told you and Paul about. Troy and I are very much aware of what's going on with your JR-to-Ning project right now. I got Troy to add a new section there on Jamroom a few days ago, but we don't really have much to add there until we see how my test network comes out.
Paul, I sent you an email again last night concerning a few final details and small questions before proceeding, but I have my archive ready and am looking forward to getting started I know that the JR Team is very busy right now, ...I'll be here ready whenever you are. Thanks!

Welcome

Ning To Jamroom

Thank you so much Paul and Brian. :)
I am reading the suggested step by step guide right now, and Troy and I will be discussing our 'going forward' plan later today and then we can get the ball rolling. I am eager to get started, as I have a good feeling about all this, and I have to say your team inspires confidence. I am beginning a fresh archive copy of my ning today, may have it finished sometime tomorrow monday.

Looking for early Ning migrants

Ning To Jamroom

Hi Paul, I wrote you a couple days ago. I am going to be getting some help in the process from my friend Troy, and Troy and I would like to test moving my Ning 2.0 site to JR. Troy may have gotten in touch with you already. Thanks, meanwhile I will be reading the info you linked to in order to get acquainted with things.
I successfully made a complete archive of my network several weeks ago but will now be making a fresh copy which will take a couple days as you know. I would like top be part of this beta process, based on what you have written me so far.
My musician based ning 2.0 site is 5 yrs old with 4000 members: http://mountaindulcimer.ning.com/
Many many thanks to the JR team for creating a ning importer tool. I'm excited to see what we can do about hopefully creating a new home for my members.

Welcome

Ning To Jamroom

I'm here Paul! I've written to you already, and hopefully I'll be working together with my friend Troy (who is helping me) to create a test site as soon as possible using my Ning 2.0 mountain dulcimer network archive. Exciting times!
