A more Powerfull Event Module

Suggestions

paul:
@Strumelia - Have you got the recurring event fields enabled in the module? - https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/modules/276/profile-events - That will allow for multi-day events.

Oh my gosh Paul- Somehow I didn't realize this had been added. AWESOME!!!!! Now I can remove this from my To Do list!! :D

Oh, but one question: if an event is a 3 day event for example...I'm hoping the event will not be moved to the "past event" category until AFTER its end date....riiiiight?... =8-*

Creating a Forum

Ning To Jamroom

Michael- also note that your link above ends with an 's' on 'forums', whereas the correct link has 'forum', not forums'. This is a common error until you get used to it. Be sure to use links that have "/forum", not "/forums"

so, even if you add the 'community' part of Paul's link, if you keep the 's' on forum at the end of the link, you'll still get File Not Found.

A more Powerfull Event Module

Suggestions

If I may add one additional suggestion for improving the Events function in JR:

This has already been complained about several times on my site- Events are only for 1 day span of time, after which they become 'past events'...and on my site they then disappear.
In music communities, there are so many weekend long festivals, and whole week-long music camps and band tours. It's frustrating for an event poster to have their week long event disappear as soon as the first day is over...folks are discussing camp classes or travel plans from the event, their experiences.
Can we get a setting to punch in the event duration to be X number of days so it stays in the current list of events until it's actually over?- Start date and end date...please?
Thanks for listening!

massive admin issues after upgrading to cometchat module

Installation and Configuration

OK update-
Thank you Robert, the CC tech team did install my new update- thank you so much.

I have a couple of glitches, the main one is one I had when i first installed CC many months ago.
I believe there may have been help from the Jamroom team as well in order to fix it, since it had to do with User id numbers vs. Profile id numbers.

The member avatars are mixed up in chat. Their names are correct. It's due to the fact that, as ONE example:

member Dan has a USER id of 446. Member Fred has a USER id of 445.
Dan has a PROFILE id of 447. Fred has a PROFILE id of 446.
Result?= When Dan is in the Chatrooms, his name is showing correctly, but he has Fred's avatar picture.

This is causing some problems, needless to say- everyone has another person's avatar picture. This issue is repeated for ALL members.

How can this be fixed? I know that between the CC team and the JR team, it got fixed last time, back in June 2015 in one of my CC support tickets.

I elaborated more HERE rather than in my CC ticket because I could not post screenshots in CC tickets. Below are two screenshots showing the User# vs Profile# problem.
Thanks to anyone for your help!

I agree it has to do with browsers and perhaps obscure settings and cookie handling...but to tell the truth I had the problem more when I was using Firefox.. ;)

Douglas, I updated the three skin templates as you suggested.

But: my config.php for my custom ningja skin doesn't even HAVE the section for 'Player Type'- just has the section for 'Player Auto Play'.

-Should I add this 'Player Type' section in, before the 'Player Auto Play' part? Or should I just leave it alone without that section included?

OK Douglas thanks! I will get working on this.
I'm assuming you mean the config.php file that in the Ningja and in my custom SKINS, not the ones in the various modules.

You can use "EditThisCookie" chrome plugin to click a green 'lock' icon for your favorite sites so that the cookies will be protected. Do you have Chrome set to automatically clear all cookies after sessions etc? If so then youll still have to log in every time, but if you have your Passwords saved then at least it can auto-fill your info when you have to log in.
I used to have a bit of an issue with my JR site making me log in too often, but that problem seems to have gone away.
Did you check the settings in your User Accounts module?:
