On Jamroom forums, only getting one page (of 10 threads) showing for a category

Using Jamroom

Just happened again. Edits don't appear until later... maybe until I post a new additional post. Some caching issue maybe?
Not having this problem on my own JR sites.

I noticed a few days ago that when i click my 'Like' button on my site, the button does not change in appearance. It finally changes 'shows' my like after I click it several more times.
(-Never mind about this "Like button" issue- I think it's separate and am opening a new help thread on it... thanks)

Also, just tried updating my above post to add:

... but the edit/update did not add my new edit. Tried twice.

Oops- update!: the edit didn't appear after trying twice. The edit to the original post only appeared after I posted this NEW post. Weird.

- no pagination to see previous threads...just one page of results. Same true for when searching for a term, like "Login" or "Saved login" for example.

I thought you said the 'download' button already downloads the original image?
sorry, i'm not understanding what you are saying.

Ah, I understand now! Thank you so much!
So, as I understand it-
we do have a setting that will show a button to download the original (and presumably largest pixel size) image. It's just slightly different than Ning beacuse Ning's button is to 'view' the original full size image on its own url, where you could then choose to download it via right click if you want... whereas the Jamroom button goes right ahead and downloads it for you rather than taking you to view it first. Depending on what one's aim is for seeing vs. having an image, it's either convenient or not convenient. But, it works! :)
Thanks much for clarifying all this!

brian:
The link to the original size does not "just appear" on the page when you decide to not block it - you will need to customize your template to include a link to the original.

So when we 'allow' download image, it does not download the original full size image, but rather the size showing in the gallery on its own page? I would think downloading the full res original would be preferable as the default- ?

Quote:
You can't right click with Chrome on the large image due to the lightbox overlay - you need to right click on the small image in the slider above the large image - then you can manipulate it.
Ok I get that, thanks!

michael:

Both images are JPEG Image, 960 × 720 pixels, same.

Maybe you've run the image cropping system to reduce space on your server perhaps.

Genius! Yes you are correct- I do indeed periodically run the image gallery tool to reduce uploaded jpgs, I believe I may well have run it at some point to reduce all images to just under 1000 px. Duh, why didn't I think of that??

ACP -> PROFILES -> IMAGE GALLERY -> GLOBAL CONFIG -> Allow Original Download (check)
That?

That downloads a smaller-than-original image version.

Ultrajam, Jamroom behavior (on my two sites anyway) is a bit oddball with this-
If you are viewing a photo in someone's gallery, on its image page, and in Chrome you right click on the image- you don't get the usual "open image in new tab"... instead you get 'open link in new tab"... and doing that merely takes you to the next photo page in the same gallery... like a 'next' button would do. For some reason Chrome neither sees it as an image, nor takes you to the same link in a new tab. I don't normally have this strangeness on Chrome when I right click an image anywhere online.
Edit- in Chrome, I do get "open image in new tab" if i right click from the gallery thumbnail page. But not from the individual photo's page.
Also- when I do click on the "open image in new tab" if i right click from the gallery thumbnail page, I get an image that is not full size- in fact, in my sample I got an image that was much smaller than the image when seen on its individual image page when browsing a user gallery.
