Looking for early Ning migrants

Ning To Jamroom

paul:
If you just want to try out a N2JR import, then yes.
If you want to move from Ning to JR, then make sure its a most recent archive of the Ning site.

I upgraded my Ning account to Ning 3.0 but I still have the old Ning 2.0 archive.

How do I get the NingJa skin/template. Do I need email my ftp details?

New "Ning To Jamroom" Bundle available now

Ning To Jamroom

I was assuming this bundle would be available in our marketplace after 14 days, or is it available now?
Thanks

we are almost done with our "NingJa" custom skin that has been designed specifically for Ning migrations.

Sounds just great!

Thank you!

you can only find the negative ones...

I used Arvixe for a couple of years or so, and I must admit my experience with them was a "negative" one.

I have used, what I consider to be the best host I have every found in over two decades, which is Heart Internet. https://www.heartinternet.uk - I'd check them out.

Their support is excellent.

Simple HTML and CSS usage in Jamroom

Design and Skin Customization

OK, Thanks Douglas.

I'm used to having the CSS code within the HTML structure (within the head) with the corresponding divs in the body, so working with templates is quite new to me, and has limited options governed by the template.

I'll probably just used the templates as they are for now.

Thanks again.

I clearly need lessons in configuring the templates. It's just far too complicated otherwise.

Menus?

Using Jamroom

I changed the JR skin to NewLucid, but I cannot see any menus, user activity on the front page nor user profiles.
How can I make this content visible?

Do I have to add modules in the Index template, as in the case below - Blog Module?

Thank you.

Simple HTML and CSS usage in Jamroom

Design and Skin Customization

I managed to create a new template page, and can see it on the site, but I'm at a total lost as to coding this using HTML and CSS. I added a simple div, but it does not show on the page (below). http://regal-network.com/jam/my_template

Obviously I'm not familiar with Smarty Code, and I cannot find anywhere on the net that shows how to write it properly. Smarty Net is no help at all.

Am I putting the { } in the wrong place?
