Group Email - no automatic mention of group?

Using Jamroom

I'm adding this into the next release of the GroupMailer module.

Is it possible for new applicants to complete a profile form before their account has been approved?

Using Jamroom

Hi Peter - I can pick up on this project.

Custom Module Specification

1) Quota configuration page(s) that lists all profile 'text entry' fields with options to specify the minimum number of characters each field needs to contain (if set to zero, that field may be left blank).

2) A 'page view' listener that first checks that the user is logged in, and if so, tests for quota compliance of any of the above profile settings. If any of them fail, the user will be re-directed to his/her profile update form.

3) A notice in the profile update form to give information on the minimum requirements needed to proceed with using the site.

This would take about three hours to develop and test, so $180 (USD).

Let me know if that sounds good.
Thanks
Paul

Group Email - no automatic mention of group?

Using Jamroom

The email message sent is currently just what the group owner creates in the editor. Are you suggesting that a (template controlled) footer is appended to any message so that there would be a like to the group by default?

Another option might be to include the link in the editor by default when composing the email. That way the group owner will see it and have the option of using it, or deleting it.

What do you think?

How to re-activate archived profile ?

Using Jamroom

Jamroom5 was a completely new version of software that is not compatible with Jamroom4, so it is not a case of simply updating your existing site. Checkout this documentation about the key differences - https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/upgrading-from-jamroom-4/214/upgrading-from-jamroom-4

However there is a path to do this by creating a new Jamroom install then Importing your original site to it. Read the above documents fully. They'll detail what can, and cannot be imported, and how today's Jamroom (now at version 6) differs from version 4.

Is it possible for new applicants to complete a profile form before their account has been approved?

Using Jamroom

You could use the Form Designer to add a 'user_info' field to the signup form. This would then be saved in the User datastore (not the Profile one) so you would need to edit the profile template(s) if you wanted it to show on their profiles.

can't log in to site

Genosis

Maybe you are entering the wrong user name when logging in? I think its case sensitive. Also be sure that you are not entering the profile name if its different from the user name.

can't log in to site

Genosis

Have not come across this issue before. How are you changing the password? Presumably via the 'Forgot Password' link?
Maybe try clearing your browser cache and any passwords for the site that it has in memory.

Ecommerce and Foxycart - are these intended for one seller per jamroom site, or multiple sellers?

Using Jamroom

Foxycart, once set up, allows all your users to sell downloads and, by using the Store module, tangible goods.
Suggestion - wait a bit longer for the release of our new Payments module. That is a lot more flexible, hopefully easier to set up and can optionally use FoxyCart, Stripe or PayPay as payment gateways.
