Using Jamroom

Hi @goldfather - Welcome to Jamroom
When Jamroom was first developed eleven years ago, it was specifically for bands and musicians and that is why you still see a majority of Jamroom based music sites.
However, as Jamroom has progressed, it has been made more suitable for use as a 'general purpose' CMS that that was fully realised with the release of Jamroom5 two years ago.
We are now seeing Jamroom being used a lot for non-music based sites, particularly with our most recent Ning to Jamroom project which is bringing former Ning users and their sites over to Jamroom.

If you want to describe your project, either here or privately via a support ticket, we can hopefully advise you on how Jamroom will fit your needs.

module search and order by ratings on multi-module seamless lists

Ning To Jamroom

You can create a search form in your 'seamless' template -
{jrSearch_module_form module="jrVideo,jrVimeo,jrYoutube"}
Any extra fields that need to be searched you would then be set up in the search module's global config.

Suggestion for the Timeline on Main Page

Are you using a 'Site Built' timeline? I've just tried that and yes, the trash can icon doesn't show. On the 'straight' Ningja skin, it does.
Maybe Michael can comment on this?

You need to FTP your Ning archive into a folder alongside your Jamroom install.

Make sure you have the latest V1.0.5 jrGroupPage module. I've added 'multi-select' to the tool. Should make it easier and quicker to allocate pages to groups.

Is the jrRecommend module enabled and has the profile's quota enabled?

The jrRecommend module should insert the 'profile_influences' field into the form and include the search in the skin.
Do you have this module?

Have just looked at this again and as Admin, when you hover over the timeline action, an option to delete it pops up.
Are you not seeing this?

No. You should be able to get to an action detail page where you can comment on an action but it doesn't seem to be worked ng in Ningja. It's late here now. I'll look into it in the morning.
