Archive content importing in reverse order issues, & navigating that

Ning To Jamroom

I know why this is happening and working on a fix. Might have to do a re-import though. Will let you know.

Paid acces module?

Ning To Jamroom

Hi @Dunamis - Welcome to the Jamroom forums.
At the moment, we can only import from archives created by Ning2 sites.
As I understand it, the archiver tool for Ning3 sites is still in development by Ning. When it is available, we will then look at the files it creates to see how they may be imported into Jamroom.
Hope this helps
Paul

Time to spice up the Timeline!

Suggestions

My site is using the jrUrlScan module to show the players. That module would need to be modified with an option to show the players already open. Its not a simple mod!!

An 'Heads Up'

Pam Givens:
Yes...Paul I would really appreciate that.

Hi Pam
I've brought your site up to speed with respect to the latest Group/Discussion/Page handling. Look it over and see what you think.
One thing you need to do is attach any of the imported pages to their original groups. The Ning archive doesn't include the information to do that automatically so it needs to be done 'by hand' after import.
Log in as admin and go to ACP=> ProfileGroups=> GroupPages=> Tools=> PageGroupConfig
Also note that all Ning discussions that were not a group discussion have now been imported to your profile forum at http://yoursite.com/pam/forum

An 'Heads Up'

Ning To Jamroom

Pam Givens:
Will watching the videos on utube help me know how to make some changes/additions, even where to start, on my site, since those videos are not about the Ningja skin?

Yes. They will give you an understanding of Jamroom right from the basics through to building your own custom modules. All the techniques can be applied to any skin. I'd recommend all Jamroom site owners to do this. The fact that yours is an imported Ning site doesn't make it any different to any other Jamroom site. Its just been 'pre-loaded' ;-)

An 'Heads Up'

Pam Givens:
I was on a short vacation too...and feel very lost at this point.

Hope you had a good rest Paul and a good vacation.

Thanks Pam - I did :-)
Yeah - a lot has happened in the past week or so and I'm a bit lost as well, but have been catching up all morning so if you want, I can log into your imported site and make sure you are up to date with the latest modules and skins?

That also goes for anyone else I've imported. Let me know.

Inline Activity Feed: Is there one or going to be one ?

Ning To Jamroom

With you.
Jamroom is 'profile centric' and as you have discovered you can add to your own timeline from your profile page but you cannot post on others. You can comment on profile timeline posts though.
What you might be looking for is the next release of the Ningja skin which should have profile comments, the same as Ning so you can just say "hi" there

An 'Heads Up'

Ning To Jamroom

Hi -I'm back. Have I missed anything? ;-)

I seriously need to get a good nights sleep then tomorrow I'll catch up with what Brian has been doing with groups and imports etc. and then get back into the swing of things here again, particularly if any of the imports I did before need bringing up to spec.
Exciting ning times still :-)

Hi John, and welcome to Jamroom.
Not quite sure what you mean but maybe the jrUrlScan and/or jrEmbed might be what you're looking for?

Time to spice up the Timeline!

Suggestions

Take a look at my site http://motagator.com
It has a 'dynamic' timeline that the new 'wall' module is based on.
Is that what you're looking for?
