Client Site Import

Sorry - Only just noticed all your posts here.
Bit worried about where the file errors are coming from.
Email me the site url and the key and I'll try importing to one of my dev sites to see if its working 'in principle'.

{jrCore_list module="jrForum" order_by="_created desc"} in a forums.tpl template is the simplest way to do it.
Have just tried it and it works ok

"Start Your Own Online Community" Course.

Using Jamroom

21 to 103 students in five days - that's awesome.
Can you tell how they are progressing or which videos they have watched etc?

Client Site Import

Hi Douglas
When you have set up the quotas on the JR5 site, run the Integrity Check. They will then show up in the jrImport config section. Then, for each JR5 quota field, enter the corresponding JR4 quota_id.
If the JR4 site is on the same server, checking the 'local' box in the config section should speed things up a bit.
Video conversions on a shared server can take between 5 and 10 minutes each to complete. If the server is really struggling, the process will time out after 30 minutes (per video) so the whole job could take some time. Whether normal site accesses are unresponsive while this is happening is, I think, down to server setup. I've seen some brought to a halt, and others appear ok.
What I tend to do now is import artists/members/users first, then audio and video, then try the conversions to see how things work out. If successful, I then go on to import all the other items.

Jamroom 5 Beta Launch 50% off promo

Announcements

With respect, it was stated at the start that this promo was for the duration of the new site's beta period.
The going live date (today) was announced a few days ago, and warning was again given in a couple of posts yesterday.
EDIT - Brian beat me to it

Any thoughts of a new cart in the near future?

Yeah I think JR member "b360" hope I spelled that right, is working on an alternative, this may be a immature question right now, but if everything works out, any possibility you could acquire this in the future so you could offer updates and support?

Well, if/when b360 does come up with a viable PayPal module, I guess there will be a big demand for it and that he will support it directly. In turn, we will support him with any Jamroom issues he comes across. It was always our intention with JR5 to get more third party developers on board, and give them the means to develop and market their JR5 products, via this new site.

Recommended hosting

Jamroom Hosting

Brian said in another thread that he was soon going to do a blog on how to set up a DigitalOcean server (droplet) for JR5.
I use DO for a couple of my sites. I think that will be the way to go.
