as far as the forum is concerned it doesn't appear that the new JR5 forums account for categories (maybe i'm missing it) this could be one of the problems with it not picking up topics? can you validate that for me, how is the import supposed to handle category/topic/reply, so i know what I'm looking for in the final import. is the end result supposed to be one long list in a single category?

I just had a quick look at the code and there are no references to categories, so maybe it doesn't.
I'm going to have to revisit this part of jrImport and check it out. I'll try and do that over the next few days. I'll need to put some test forum posts on my JR4 test site but ultimately it'll be useful to try 'real' forum posts.
JCable - if you can PM or email (paul at motagator dot net)me your JR4 site URL and the jrImport/jrExport key I'll be able to pull your forum posts as a test.
I'll start a thread for this on the new JR5 forum so we can continue there after tomorrow.

Actually, I saw this happen yesterday as well.
I posted a comment and it didn't show. Refreshed the page and there it was.
This only happened once. I've not seen it happen since, which is why I didn't worry too much about it at the time.

If JR5 its a lot easier - make the move, then edit the /data/config/config.php file to reflect the change.

Hi
No - The Jamroom4 template functions will not work with Jamroom5.
But check this out - http://test.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/development/123/template-functions
Scroll through the subsequent pages for individual functions.
Also, take a look at the /modules/jrCore/lib/smarty.php file. All smarty template function code is there so that will give you a quick idea of all that is available.

FFMpeg binary is not working

Making sure you upload the file in binary mode often fixes this. Have you tried that?
