How to upload and search audio and video by date and location?

Using Jamroom

Hi JR Team,

We have many audio and video recordings of conferences, meetings etc from many many years ago (e.g. 1980, 1999, 2002 etc). All our audio and video recordings/files up to now are save with date and location.

We would like to publish them online on our JR site. How to upload and make them searchable by date?

Example:

In the upload process to have fields like this:

Day:
01
02
03
04
etc

Month:
01
02
03
04
etc

Year:
1980
1981
..
..
2000
2001
...
2014
2015
2016
...
2020
2021
etc

Or maybe to use an calendar with a date picker. (I don't know, just guessing)

or Another field to enter location, like this:

New York
California
Paris
South Africa
etc

Same apply with the search. How to make the audio and video files searchable by date and location?

e.g.: One can search for a specific conference of 02/05/1995 or search by location.

I don't know if the Form Designer will handle this. If so, How? Please tell me a good approach to achieve what i have explained above. (Please step by step)

Thanks in advance.

How To Build a Multilingual Site Using The Site Builder?

Using Jamroom

Hi Brian,

I am still stuck on this issue. I have already created 4 languages in the system. It seems that it is not still possible to build a Multilingual Site using the Site Builder in the Elastic template.

I have posted about the same subject here:

https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/using-jamroom/34639/how-to-build-a-jrelastic-multilingual-based-site-using-the-site-builder

Six months later, there seems to be no solution.

Please, providing me with a comprehensive step by step guide on "how to Build a Multilingual Site using the Site Builder" in the Elastic Template.

Thanks in advance.

New Hosting features and plans - "Jamroom Premium"

Announcements

brian:
I appreciate the feedback! It's always hard when you roll out a new feature as you have to worry about how it is going to affect everyone - it's really hard to make everyone 100% happy.
We're kicking around some ideas here for existing users to upgrade to Premium - nothing has been decided on yet.
Giving existing users who spent $199 or more a free upgrade to Premium was our way of saying thanks for supporting JR at a higher level than most users. There's always going to be someone under the cutoff level that is going to wish it had been lower.
Again - thanks for the feedback - we'll have something out to address this specific issue real soon, and our hope is it makes (almost) everyone happy.
Thanks!

Thanks a lot Brian for always hearing your customers.

Regards.

New Hosting features and plans - "Jamroom Premium"

Announcements

brian:
Not at this time - we don't have that setup, but it's actually something we have thought about getting setup so it's "automatic". It would be @ $299 though - the normal price of Premium.

Wow, com'on Brian! Maybe you should have thought about your existing customers as well (those who didn't reach the $199 limit yet but who will be interested in the Premium Plan) and not just leave them behind like that. Since, it is a new plan, the $299 requirement should have applied to new customers only from now. (It will encourage your existing customers - Old or longtime JR users to upgrade to the Premium Plan, while you guys from JR Team still earn money). It is just a thought.

New Hosting features and plans - "Jamroom Premium"

Announcements

brian:
It's not based on the current marketplace price, but the actual price paid. Unfortunately right now the interface doesn't expose the actual price paid per item - however, if you still have access to your email you could look at the receipts.
I can see your last purchase was: 15 Nov 2013 07:20:39AM
Let me know if that helps.
Thanks!

Ok Brian. I understand. Thanks. What about if I keep on buying individual items and reach that required amount of $199 or over, will my subscription automatically be upgraded to premium?

Thanks

New Hosting features and plans - "Jamroom Premium"

brian:
The total spent on these items was $81.50 - which is below the $199 level we set for a free upgrade to Jamroom Premium. The reason we chose $199 is that is the price of the Jamroom 5 Super Pack (and premium is designed to replace the Super Pack).
If you think I've overlooked something let me know.
Thanks!

Thanks Brian. According to their price in the marketplace, I've thought that the total of these items was over $199. Where in my JR account can i check the total spent?
Thanks

New Hosting features and plans - "Jamroom Premium"

Announcements

Hi Brian. The JR team has done a great work. Congratulations.

My concern is a about my Subscription. I have bought the following premium modules and skin: "Advanced Charts, OneAll Social Link, User Comments, User Playlists, ProJam 5 Light Skin, Video Support, Audio Support".

With the new JR system, why didn't my subscription upgrade to the Premium Plan? It is still marked as "Open Source" plan. Please can you upgrade it?

Thanks.

How to build a JrElastic multilingual-based site using the Site Builder?

Using Jamroom

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your reply. I have no choice. I have manually started to build a multilingual JR site. My main worry is that I will need to start everything over on the Site Builder when the Multilingual support will be added to it.

About the forum post, I can not mark it as solved right now, because it hasn't been solved for me yet. I am still applying the changes that Brian suggested me here on trying to build a multilingual site. I will post some feedback and questions about it very soon.

Replacing special Latin characters in friendly URLs issue

Using Jamroom

Hi Brian. Thanks a lot. It works even with the one already created. What I did is: I have renamed the account user and its profile to something else. Then renamed it back to the same original name with the special characters. The issue was fixed. The friendly URL was properly created and special latin characters were replaced.

Thanks for the support.
