You'll want to either comment out the code or just remove the code. There isn't a skin setting that will turn them off.

As for "Newest Audio", that would depend on where you want to add it on the home page?

Hi,

This is the second time I post the same message. I have posted earlier today but my post just disappeared. I don't know whether it is a Forum bug or my message has been deleted by one of the admins.

He we go:

Is there any switch ON/OFF (1/0) from the ACP in order to enable/disable boxes on the home page (Latest Blogs And News, Reviews And Articles, Events Calendar etc) or should one comment them or manually remove them? (ProJam light here)

Also, how to add the "Newest Audio" box to the home page?

Hope this post won't get deleted too.

Hi Paul. Nice job, the module is great. Now I get your point. Your are right, Like for songs and video wouldn't be the best rating feature. Yep for blog posts and comments, it make sens. Approved! ;)

Video Genre Field

Thanks a lot Douglas. It is exactly what I was looking for. I am going to apply the mod and let you know.

Still have few questions:

- Is there a way to shorten theses genre/Category URLs/Links and make them SEF?

- Considering the code you gave me, how to have a straight and manually made url to genres and Categories instead of having them dynamically pulled from the database? I would like to create a custom menu or dropdown menu leading to each Genre and Category.

- I am not running a music/artist-based site. My audio/videos files are mainly conference recordings, debates, podcasts, seminars, preachings etc. So I have replaced the genre field word: "genre" with the word "audio". I wouldn't like to have the word "music" appeared anywhere in the site since I don't deal with music.

How to get rid of the word "music" in the modification you have just given to me?

- What about if I update my template via Marketplace, will I loose all my changes?

If you want a video category page like YouTube, you would have to create something custom. There are no plans at this time, that I'm aware of, to add this feature into any of the JR5 skins.

Last but not least, any idea/clue on how to create something custom to get a video category page?

Great, Brian. Sounds good! But don't you think that this module will compete with the rating module in the system? (just a thought). One will obstruct the other. They seem to be doing almost the same fonction. Like System vs Rating System, what is the difference?

This is all skin based stuff - I'll let Douglas comment, but since video genres are not being added to the core, this is something you would likely want to add in yourself.

This would require a custom module - that's not supported by the followers module.

Brain, below are few things I wanted to address regarding to the Audio/video Genres/Categories:

1) Genres/Categories in audio/video page, search results, charts etc... should be clickable (links) like in Youtube (please see the category in video description. It is actually a link).

How to make them links everywhere in JR (frontend)?

2) The links should go the categories page like in Youtube.

Example:

http://www.youtube.com/sports

Also they should have a "Subscribe" aka "Follow" (in JR) button to allow users to suscribe/follow that specific Caterogy.

Any chance to see this feature in JR?

3) As the Genres/Category should be clickable (links/pages), we should be able to set a list of Categories in a "Browse Categories" manner or set a menu (e.g. a drop down menu) with a list of all Categories/Genres. It's more handy.

How to achieve that in JR?
