tracking number of members posting PLUS number of posts in total each month?

Ning To Jamroom

paul:
Upcoming module releases add daily and monthly dashboard counts for 'DataStore' modules that include blogs, comments, groups etc.
Hopefully that will cover what you are wanting.

Paul - This might cover it. Do you know when this might happen? Would there be a way to see who are the people who are posting as well? KK above mentioned something about Daily and Monthly Users... is that info already there somewhere?

K_K:
These would be good additions to the Dashboard, would give nice info to compare with Daily and Monthly Active Users.

Is this information already available on JR? If so, where would I find it? I'm still interested in getting the number of posts each month but this would be helpful also.

"DS counts"? I'm not sure what that is, but getting a count of the posts by members by the month would be most helpful to me. I don't really need it by the day, although I can't speak for other people. And that would be fine to put it on the dashboard page.

Paul - all of the above.... comments, forum posts, blogs, events, wherever a member could post something. In my ideal world, I’d be able to have all these separated out but I’d even just like to know a grand total each month if possible.

Is there a way to track the number of members who post each month? How about the total number of posts (regardless of the number of people who post) each month? without hand-counting of course.

Zoom?

Ning To Jamroom

Anyone else use Zoom for webinars, etc? I'm wondering if there is a way to add zoom recordings to my site. I know how to make and download recordings. I'd like to be able to then post them (like YouTube) so people can see watch the video/sound recordings.

I'm most comfortable with Zoom but would be open to hear what you all use for something like this. Looking for cheap/free/easy-to-use.

Thoughts?

Changing skins (Sage to Ninja or something else)?

Ning To Jamroom

For some reason, when our site was set up, Sage was used as the skin (we migrated from Ning to JR). Now I'm looking at the Ninja skin and it's looking pretty good. But being a tech-baby, I'm not sure what I should be thinking about as I contemplate changing skins. So here are some questions I have... talk amongst yourselves...

1. What should I be looking for in terms of using a new skin? What are the deciding factors you use when you pick a skin?

2. If we switch skins, what will be lost? Will we lose any content? Will it automatically be moved to the correct places?

3. Is there a way to test out the new skin with our current content without users seeing it until we confirm that's what we want?

4. Are some skins "easier" for tech-babies? Which skins do you like and why?

5. What else do I need to know?

Connecting between the sign up questions and a member's profile?

Ning To Jamroom

Strumelia:
...Afterwards, you can learn how to make each particular question/field/response show up on the profile page to all members to see (helpful to boost social interaction), or just Admins (helpful to prevent spammers).

Thank you for the beautiful explanation, Strumelia. You really should write directions for newbies/tech babies....

I've figured out how to modify the user/account & user/signup forms using Form Designer, as well as using Form designer for profile/settings and profile/create. The part I don't understand yet is the last part you mention... How to make each particular question/field/response to the fields on the user/signup (user_) on the sign-up form show up on the profile page automatically so members don't need to do it as an extra step.

It says that I can add profile_ fields on the profile/create & profile/create forms, but I still don't get how the info they fill in on the fields when they create an account (user_) show up on their profile....

Thanks to anyone who can explain how I can do this! :-)
