Modern style skin needed

Design and Skin Customization

Sorry to hear you are having problems. Which skin are you using?

In what way are you struggling?

You need to provide some (any) information before anyone can help you.

All the skins I have seen use ajax (for every single form submit), and they are all responsive design. Can you be more specific about where you feel you are struggling?

Yes, looks like you are right there, the play counts look out of whack on the right of your screenshot.

Charts Songs Plays Not changing its ranks as it should be

Using Jamroom

The charts work differently in Jamroom 5 compared to Jamroom 4. That isn't an issue, it's an upgrade.

Take some time to look at how the charts work, and then I am sure you will be able to configure them to work how you want them to.

I would say "read the docs", but there aren't many docs on the charts yet. So my best advice would be to add the smarty linked to above in your templates and get to know how they work, then configure them to work how you need them to.

soaring eagle, you might want to keep your word count down in the larger pond. Support requests are better recieved if they are actually readable during a 5 minute break. no offence intended, just saying.

Check out the comments here:

Over the course of a couple of weeks you will get a feel for how it works and be able to adjust the call to better suit your needs.

Charts are for a rolling period, if you need that period to be fixed and reset weekly you'd need to write the call and some smarty to do that for you.

TinyMCE paragraph formatting

Using Jamroom

Thanks Gary, yes shortcodes are really handy, but the people who I want to use this are already using html, and part of my current job involves training them to update their skills in html5, css3 and jquery.

Limiting that training to Bootstrap seems like a sensible idea (because it is so well worked out, thoroughly tested and perfectly documented).

I'd like them to use Jamroom in some way (of course), and I'm hoping that they will love the tools I am developing to make their lives easier. (and my life too - the last time I had "the pleasure" of working with dreamweaver was about 10 years ago, and it hasn't improved one bit).

Those tools would mean that they can create their stuff without getting bogged down in html (which is what they really, really want), but the tools don't stand a chance of being adopted if they prevent access to the html - and I completely agree with the policy there. If people are willing and able, they should be given all encouragement and support to keep up to date with the fundamentals of the internet. Literacy is a "big thing" in both education and libraries.
