My site is loading slowly - what can I do?

Using Jamroom

Thanks for replying to my post :)

My server, gazelle, is located in Amsterdam, Europe, so that´s pretty "close" to me.

And thanks Brian for updating me about clearing the cache. It´s good to hear :)

I´ll wait and see if it´s nessesary to take a look at VPS.

Thanks again!

My site is loading slowly - what can I do?

Using Jamroom

I haven´t done anything to my site yet, but it also seem to load a bit faster here now. The biggest issue is when I clear my cache - and then enter my site. Then it´s to slow. And that´s the way most visitors will see it, if they haven´t been to my site before... Right?

But if you, Paul, haven´t been to my site before, and it look ok for you, then I guess it´s just in my end it´s slow..?

The test: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/dWvAjK/http://www.find-et-band.dk - shows that it´s very slow...

Maybe I´m just overreacting on this issue, but I believe it´s important that it loads quickly.

Let me know if there could be anything to do..?

Thanks :)

My site is loading slowly - what can I do?

I just realized that the images on my frontpage are croped, so I don´t understand why they are loading so slowly?

I´m looking forward to hear from someone :)

My site is loading slowly - what can I do?

Using Jamroom

Hi there,

I have been writing a few e-mails with Arvixe.com about my site because I discovered that it is loading pretty slow. It´s especially the frontpage, but the other pages loads to slow as well. Arvixe says that it´s the images and scripts that are dominating the delay.

On this site you can see where the delays are: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/dWvAjK/http://www.find-et-band.dk

I know that I have some scripts from other sites like Twitter and Facebook and I really like to keep these scripts.

So I´m wondering if anything could be done to the images on my site so that they don´t load so slowly. I guess it´s because the images are big even though they are showing up as small thumbnails on my fronpage..?

Let me know what I can do to make my site faster.

Thanks :)

Torben

Insert extra fields in the search form..?

Using Jamroom

Hi there,

As you can see on my site: http://find-et-band.dk/advsearch - I have had Michael working on an advanced searchform for my site. It should be done, but it´s not yet working like it should. I´m waiting for the core update because Michael told me that it is needed for the searchform to work like it should.

Please let me know when I can expect this core update to come out..?

Thanks a lot :)

How to backup all of my site?

Installation and Configuration

Thanks for info, Brian.

I´m using Arvixe as my hosting provider. I hope they offer backups. I believe they do as you are recommending them :)

Do you know what to do or should I contact Arvixe regarding this? :)

Thanks!

How to backup all of my site?

Installation and Configuration

Ok, I didn´t understand that it was AWS (Amazon Web Services) that I needed to create an account at, but it´s now done and I´ve put in the informations from AWS in my ACP, so it should be just fine now :)

Thanks :)
