Different skin used on dashboard tab page

Jamroom Developers

You mean you're creating a custom tab in the dashboard? The admin skin module may not be able to support that since (unfortunately) it has to be hard coded for the all the different views. We can down the road look at some sort of trigger setup (which probably should have been the way it works from the beginning), but I'd recommend just NOT using admin skin unless you really need to.

Click and Drag

Suggestions

Keith Mauck:
Forum categories. Click and drag to order categories instead of the up arrow

Just to add to this that "click and drag" doesn't tend to work very well on a lot of mobile devices, so the "click arrow" to re-order works well.

I also agree with Paul here - actions that are done frequently will likely continue to be streamlined as needed, but these type of settings that are rarely (if ever) changed don't warrant the extra complexity (and issues users would have) to "fix" something that already works.

Can de-activated members continue sending private notes if still logged in?

Using Jamroom

I've got an update in the next version of the User Accounts module that will help with this (version 2.0.2) - In the User Accounts data browser there is a new "Block" button to easily block/unblock a user and their profile.

This makes it really easy to see existing blocked users as well as block a user all with 1 click.

There's a new JR6 beta core coming out tomorrow and this will be in the new user accounts module for JR6.

URLs in private notes are already hyperlinked, so you should be good.

Thank you for your effort.

I just made a small change in your mailer on your system - let me know if the URLs are hyperlinked for you now.

Sorry - I misspoke. The reason I was not seeing the HTML is that the email address I was testing with was NOT on your system (therefore it cannot create the preferences footer) and so it forces it to plain text.

I've just created an account for myself on your site and I see no problems with how Jamroom is sending email.

I just sent myself a test message from your site, and I'm not even seeing any HTML at all - even though send as HTML is checked, there are no HTML headers or footers, so something is wrong on your site at the template or module level. I'll see if I can spot what the issue is and let you know.

Your members are not likely to have an issue - the majority are likely using email clients that turn URLs into hyperlinks.

Also note that this is not related to sending email as HTML email - you'd have the same issue on plain text email as well. Could be your email providers web based email client just doesn't handle URLs in email properly.

brian:
Hyperlinks in emails will be hyperlinked by the email client - that's not something JR controls.
Let me know if that helps.
Thanks Brian
Now I'm trying to resolve this challenge with my own email provider.
But I don't think other members will know what to do.
I guess we should back to the text version of our email notifications.
Joanna

This has nothing to do with your email provider. It is your email CLIENT. For example, I use the Email app on my Mac. You might use something like Outlook, or a 3rd party email CLIENT.

If your client sees an email come in that has a URL in it, it will make it clickable automatically. I'm not aware of any modern email client that does not do this.

I just sent myself a test message with a test URL in it an see no issues.
