imported events showing oldest first (how to reverse this order?)

Ning To Jamroom

Yes - you just need to leave it how it was :) Just make sure that you are NOT showing past events, and then events will be listed in UPCOMING order, which is what you want.

Note that since you are an ADMIN you will always see ALL the events, so you need to look at the page as a regular user.

There was no need to make any changes here - what you wanted to do is already supported and the default way it works.

editing profile pages (forced to re-upload image)

Using Jamroom

There's 2 places you can upload an image for a user - in the "Profile" tab and the "Account" tab - I'm assumed you meant the "Profile" tab, but if you are clicking on "Account" that is the USER image. You need to do the same thing on THAT form and check the form designer.

editing profile pages (forced to re-upload image)

Using Jamroom

I have just tested this here and see no issues. I suspect that you may have made the profile_image field a "required" field:

1) View your Profile Settings as a master admin
2) Click on the "Form Designer" button in the upper right
3) Click on "modify" to the right of the "profile image" field
4) Make sure "Required" (near the bottom) is NOT checked. If it is, uncheck it and save.

Let me know if that helps.

Upgrading to Jamroom 6

Using Jamroom

Awesome - glad to hear the upgrade went fairly smooth. We knew going in to the release that the Timeline would be a bit of an issue, since the entire framework for actions has changed quite a bit. We knew that timeline templates would need to be updated before working properly. I spent quite a bit of time trying to make it backwards compatible, and still work with the new setup, but ended up having to "bite the bullet" and make the change. The good news is the new Timeline framework is set up much better to scale and give us the features we need to do some cool stuff.

Thanks!

New “Profile Pulse” for profile notification counts

Using Jamroom

Ceri:
Ahhh right..... so it only works if I use that skin right?

At the moment yes - we'll likely add it into other skins where it makes sense. With Follow Me focusing 100% on 'social' it makes sense it will use it a lot.

Basically what Profile Pulse is is a new "what's new" notification system - i.e. modules can say "when this event happens, create a pulse counter". The Profile module provides the framework for allowing create and update pulse counts.

It's up to the skin to "get" the counts where needed, as well as reset them when needed. Initially we were going to try to automate that part as much as we could, but realized that each skin is likely to do it differently.

Let me know if that helps.

User Birthday Module

Using Jamroom

SteveX:
I don't see the birthday module in the network market (logged in), and nothing is returned when I search for "birthday".

No issues here - make sure you've subscribed to the Jamroom 6 Beta channel on the site. I just tested from one of my "live" sites and I see it.

Latest updates to Jamroom Core 6.0.0b1

gary.moncrieff:
Oh yes and this is just an annoyance, if you enable tinymce, even in follow me, the input box is massive and generally you have to scroll to find the submit button. I

No issues here - there is specific CSS to prevent that, so make sure you've reset caches.

Wrong Meta Lang value in the Meta Tag

Using Jamroom

I have just finished testing this and I think I know what is going on here. So by default if Jamroom sees:

1) the user is not logged in
2) does not have a language preference cookie set
3) is not SETTING their lang preference (via the "set_user_language" param)

Then the next thing it does is look at the user's HTTP_ACCEPT_LANGUAGE string from their browser and see's if their browser preferred language is available on the site - if it is it uses it, else it drops to using the default language.

So in this case when you are testing it your browser is likely reporting that English is the primary preferred language, which is why you don't see the meta tag lang strings change.

Let me know if that makes sense.

Thanks!

Latest updates to Jamroom Core 6.0.0b1

If you would be willing to let me know what the little issues are, that would be great. If there are bugs we'd like to fix them. If it is just that you don't like the design, that's no problem - we do have updates to other skins coming that might be more in line with what you're looking for.

If you see bugs however I'd like to try and get them fixed.

Thanks!
