How to add the who is online for the entire site?

Using Jamroom

pch:
We probably need two language strings for "Guest": "Guest" in singular (when guest == 1) and "Guests" in plural.
Just to add that you can avoid this by using the tag as a prefix - i.e. use this:
Quote:
guests: 1
instead of:
Quote:
1 guests

A Footer similar to the JR Footer on this site

Using Jamroom

Text color is usually used to emphasize/de-emphasize something, so going with a lighter gray on a dark background prevents it from being "distracting" to the viewer if they are viewing other text near the footer.

Most users don't look in the footer - if you are however, then you are likely looking for something specific (privacy policy, terms of service, etc.) so the lighter text isn't likely to deter you.

You can get the footer code from our site just by doing a "view source" - past that into your footer.tpl and adjust it to suit your needs.

Let me know if that helps.

Jamroom Facebook/Twitter Campaign

Announcements

This is great feedback - thanks for taking the time to post all of this :)

We are working behind the scenes on several things - what you see right now on Twitter and FB is just the beginning. We have a lot of work ahead of us, so it's not something you'll see happen quickly, but we're working on it.

Thanks!

advance search

Using Jamroom

msultani:
Hello,
I am just wondering if anyone used SOLR ( http://lucene.apache.org/solr/) for Jamroom or not before. I am trying to use advance text search for Jamroom and want to see if it is possible or not. If you have used it or it is possible, can share your experience please.
Thanks

Jamroom has it's own advanced search "built in" - does it not work like you were hoping?

Particular Notification option missing?

Using Jamroom

There is no option for "for when you are following a particular Forum Discussion and there's a new post in it" since there is no way to effectively "show that" was an option in the notifications. It IS supported though. Here's how it works:

- if you CREATE a new forum topic, you are notified of any new responses on that topic automatically.
- if you want to FOLLOW a specific topic, then you click the "target" icon on that forum topic and you'll be notified when new posts are made on it.

I believe it works well.

Let me know if that helps.

Embed Local Media in TinyMCE not working in Chrome on iOS

Using Jamroom

Chrome on iPad? What type of monstrosity is that? :)

Have never used Chrome for iPad (and am scared to install it) but will check it out - it should be using Safari under the hood, so I can't see why it would be different.

Any Plans for HTTP/2 Support?

Jamroom Hosting

Right now HTTP/2 support in Apache is still "experimental":

https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_http2.html

Once it is stable and available it can easily be turned on.

Thanks!

Test Site

Using Jamroom

msultani:
Thank you Brian. Also is there Category and sub-category module for Jr or it has to be developed.
Thanks

No - Site Builder can do this, but based on your requirements that you provided via email it's going to require a custom module to meet your needs since you're not going to want to manually build each page.

Changing or adding templates sitebuilder

Design and Skin Customization

It looks like you are trying to embed a VIDEO - so how it works in JR is that each module provides it;s own "embed" template - so in this case you want to modify the ACP -> Modules -> Profiles -> Video -> Templates -> item_embed.tpl

Let me know if that helps.

Work around for Max Upload Limit?

Installation and Configuration

You can, but it's not as simple - you need to:

1) upload the geocity.dat file to data/media/0/0 and name it "geoipcity-1463577028.dat"

2) go into the jr_jrcore_settings table and set the value column for the "ip_file_time" key in the jrGeoIP module to "1463577028".

Reset caches and that should work. I'd recommend contacting your hosting provider about upping that limit though - 20mb in 2016 is way, way too small :)
