New Merchandise Module?

Using Jamroom

I have to apologize - this is my fault. I'm actually in the process of moving right now, and it has been CRAZY. We've been in our current house for 17 years - and my wife and I have been working 16 hour days the last month so we could get our house sold. Unfortunately this has been taking up 95% of my time.

The good news is that we've sold our house now, and the next week or so should be much quieter (or I certainly hope it is - I need a break!) and I'm going to work on getting caught up on a backlog of email and tickets that are sitting here for me. I think 6.1 is ready to rock and roll, so my first priority is to get that released as well as the get the new Product module out, so those should be coming soon barring any issues I run into on this end.

So thanks for your patience - we've never had a beta stretch on like this, but it's 100% my fault.

Configuring a Beta Test Environment

Installation and Configuration

The best way to do this is to setup a secondary install of Jamroom on your server - i.e.

staging.yourdomain.com

That way you can update and push new code/content to your "staging" site. Once you are happy with how it works, push it to your production site.

Note that with JR hosting this is really easy to do - just create the second dev domain and one click "import" your live site to the dev site to get a complete copy of your production site for testing.

Let me know if that helps.

ANNOYING iframe is not allowed-error message has returned

Design and Skin Customization

And just to add some clarification here for a misunderstanding - the "ALLOW_ALL_DOMAINS" you added to the Core - Allowed Domains setting has nothing to do with iframes - that is used to determine which REMOTE domains will be allowed to embed audio/video from your site.

You really need to setup the iframe control module:

https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/networkmarket/116/iframe-control

allowing iframes on your site without it is a very bad idea - it's how you're going to get your visitors systems hacked when they visit your site. I know it may seem to be an "annoying and time wasting feature" but trust me when I say we have setup JR this way specifically to prevent your site from being hijacked.

Is ionicframework compatible with Proxima

Proxima

You should have no problem using ionic framework with Proxima - as long as it can handle receiving data in JSON format (which is pretty much supported by everything nowadays).

So basically how it would work is you would develop the mobile app in ionic, and to get data into and out of Proxima you would send a request TO Proxima, and Proxima would respond with a JSON object - ionic would receive that and decode it for you and give you the data to work with.

So I'd recommend reading up on ionic's support for JSON - i.e.

https://www.joshmorony.com/using-http-to-fetch-remote-data-from-a-server-in-ionic-2/

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks!

my Premium Cometchat disappeared- related to SSL/https changes?

Using Jamroom

gary.moncrieff:
Maybe if you click on profile icon in chat, you get a context menu with options, rather than linking directly to profile?

zachary moonshine:
another thing i wish it showed online at the top.

Both of these are great suggestions. I have a small update that is in testing related to deleted items, so I will see about getting these in place.

Thanks everyone!

... or find a new chat..

Why would Jamroom's simple chat not work for you? Do your users believe it is not secure or something?

jrVideo not working in Chrome and Microsoft Edge

Design and Skin Customization

Yep - this is an issue with Chrome, and it's fixed in Jamroom 6.1:

https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/blog/93/jamroom-61-beta-kickoff

After upgrading just make sure all modules are up to date, then run an integrity check with the "Repair modules" option checked,
then go into the ACP -> Profiles -> Video -> Tools and run the "Verify Video Files" tool - that will create new queue entries for each video on your system and run them through a quick verification process to ensure your videos are setup to work properly with Chrome.

Let me know if that helps.

Can't log in, what do I do?

Installation and Configuration

The problem here is that your site is located at:

http://tuneportnet.jamroomhosting.com/

You have not updated DNS to point your domain at your Jamroom server yet:

About smart phones and the text editor

Using Jamroom

You should not see the editor on a phone - you SHOULD see it on a table. The editor does not actually work properly on a phone. My guess is you are using a "phablet" that masquerades as a tablet.

About smart phones and the text editor

Using Jamroom

The text editor is not responsive, so does not work on the small screen of a smartphone. On a phone you will get a text box for entering text. Sorry!
