In form designer, does a default setting for a field have any effect if the field is optional?

Using Jamroom

researchcooperative:1. Does a default setting have any effect if the field is optional? I suppose that it won't, but am not sure.

If the field is NOT required, and a default is set for the field in the form designer, the default value is used.

researchcooperative:2. If the field is "required", will a default option ensure that the field is filled, regardless of whether or not the user has thought about the field content? I suppose that it will, but am not sure.

Yes.

Let me know if that helps.

Activity Log Help

Using Jamroom

This tells you the page that was access is:

/sos-band/action

Which lines up with the "item_index.tpl" for the Timeline module - i.e. jrAction/templates/item_index.tpl - OR if you have overridden it in your skin it will be skins/SkinName/jrAction_item_index.tpl.

You can see here that the core has been told to search for a "gallery_title_url" that is missing a search value (i.e. there is nothing AFTER the equal sign).

Amazon Linux: install gives error: jrCore_checktype: unable to load checktype plugins

Installation and Configuration

VarickW:I am having the exact same issue but using Windows Server 2K12. I downloaded everything again and to no avail I am getting the exact same error. Could the zip file download be corrupted?

Welcome to the Jamroom forum!

Jamroom does not run on Windows:

https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/documentation/getting-started/774/server-requirements

Make sure and spin up a Linux based EC2 instance and you should be good, or if you are installing locally you could install Jamroom on a Linux VM using something like Virtualbox.

Let me know if that helps.

Thanks!

Lost the trashcan/delete icon on Index page Timeline in jr6?

Using Jamroom

Yes - that was me - you no longer need that template, so it can be removed. By NOT using that template you instead are using the module provided templates, and therefore don't have to worry about a skin override template.

So now the template you want to customize is going to be in the Timeline module - i.e. index.tpl.

Let me know if that helps.

JR Chat Icon

Using Jamroom

You have a weird "body_1" tag - you'll want to remove that.

What part of the chat is incorrect? Is it supposed to be black background or something? Are you sure you put the right chat.css file in?

JR Chat Icon

Using Jamroom

Dazed:looking at this I have no idea why it is invoking the light chat. I cloned the skin again and it worked fine. But in my cloned skin it remains light.

So in the developer tools look at the CSS rules - you'll see why it's remaining light.

Possible Issue

Using Jamroom

SeanChaney:Found the issue I believe. I had "Force Login to Checkout" checked. When I uncheck this box it allows firefox, chrome and Android phone browser to go through checkout process. when I checked it again issue reappeared. I now have it unchecked and it seems to allow all browsers to the checkout.

Weird - the browser (or being mobile) shouldn't matter with that since the "force login" is a Location URL redirect, which works regardless of browser and OS.

We can check it out though.

Thanks!

Subscription Cancellation Notification

Using Jamroom

PatriaCo:I think the notifications (or lack there of) is what is most important.

I have designed other websites that are PCI compliant and we store CC info in the shopping cart. Gateways are just "pass-through" entities... except for PayPal which acts as a one-stop gateway/merchant service provider and consumer protection service. Paypal does store CC info, but others like authorize.net do not. The customer/CC holder (our JR website members) would need to have a secured login to access their CC info and that is not offered via Foxycart (from what I can tell).

For right now I would just like to be notified when someone cancels a subscription or has a payment failure.

FoxyCart will notify you - make sure and check your notification settings at FoxyCart. Also - there's no need for PCI compliance with JR since the CC info is NOT stored in JR.
