No - it does not cost anything.
On a side note, there sometimes IS EXIF info that would help us "rotate" images on resize, but it's not always reliable.

It should only be using a single connection - not multiple, so you should never see this. Are you forcing connections on MySQL to persistent connections?

Sounds like the server did not respond right (that message is when your browser only gets "part" of the response).
Try it with another browser and be sure the server is setup properly (i.e. PHP 5.3 and older only for JR4).

Profile Image on Private Notes Module

In this case, as far as i understood PN module and Genosis skin are not exactly compitable from this point. I think it's not very sensible to tell users that you can have a profile picture but if you want to see your picture in PN you have to upload a user image too. It is very logical to display user image as a profile image when it is uploaded. But as you know the family tree consists of profiles that has no users in the beginning. I will try to change the code of the module again. If i can't be successfull i will remove the user image section from the page because it looks funny this way since the only think you see is an empyt man icon as you are messaging.

You're correct - most Genosis profiles are not going to have an attached user account - but that means no one will be "logging in" as that account to send a Private Note.
Maybe I'm not understanding the issue? From my understanding you want the PROFILE image to show in Private Notes - not the USER image - is that correct? If so, my explanation above is why the user shows.
