Modules broken after updating jrEmbed

Jamroom Developers

Steve - I've just updated the Editor Embedded Media module to 1.3.1 - update and let me know if that fixes it for you.

Thanks!

Just Released - new Site Builder module!

Announcements

Make sure and check out the blog post on it here:

https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/blog/64/welcome-to-the-new-site-builder

It is currently beta, so you'll need to enable the BETA channel in your Marketplace -> Tools -> Release Channels section, then you will be able to install it from the Marketplace.

IMPORTANT!
Note at this time if you are running the existing Site Builder set of modules in production on your live site, please do NOT upgrade to this new Site Builder just yet. While it does support upgrading, we want to get feedback and more testing in with larger sites before we recommend you switch your live site to the new Site Builder. Instead, please install on a test domain/site (easy to do if you're using JR hosting) and let us know if you spot any issues.

Some things we are working on:

1) Right now the Image Galleries module does not have a Widget - we're working on it.

2) Only the Elastic, Lucid and NingJa skins have been updated with the new {jrSiteBuilder_menu} function in the header menu template - we'll be getting to the rest of the skins over the next couple days.

3) We are still working on full mobile support for the new Menu Editor - it will work but we've not done full testing yet on the mobile side.

We've worked really hard over the last month to make this new Site Builder easy to use and powerful - we hope you enjoy using it!

Please let us know if you have any feedback, suggestions, or run into any issues.

Thanks!

Modules broken after updating jrEmbed

Jamroom Developers

SteveX:
Ah I see, thanks Brian.

Gary and Ken have both reported this error (although I'm not sure yet when that occurs:
{"notices":[{"type":"cri","text":"Query Error: Table 'gary_jamroom.jr_ujgooglemaps_item_key' doesn't exist"}] }

https://www.jamroom.net/ultrajam/forum/general/28547/latest-update-to-jrembed-broke
https://www.jamroom.net/ultrajam/forum/googlemaps/28551/error-code-after-update

Does this change mean that only modules using a datatore and having items to embed can use the tinymce popup? IpsumJam and GoogleMaps don't have any actual items of their own, yet they use the popup.

I don't believe so - let me double check the code and see if there is a check happening that is preventing it from working.

What BCE?

Genosis

"BCE" is the correct term to use when you do not want any religious connotation.

I tried again today from the work computer, and I am able to use the "save image as ..." option again! WHOOO HOO! ~ Lisa

Glad to hear that :)

Note too that the image you are linking to is an Event Image - not a gallery image, so you will not see the download image icon when viewing an image that is attached to an event.

Modules broken after updating jrEmbed

Jamroom Developers

SteveX:
It looks like in the last batch of updates the entire tinymce popup system has been replaced with the sitebuilder widget system.

This breaks any 3rd party modules using the tinymce code.

It would be good to be given some advance notice of changes like this where working code is removed from all modules and replaced with something completely different.

Steve -

My apologies - I was under the impression you had been notified (or was told you were being notified) - I'll follow up on that.

The Embed System has not been replaced with Site Builder - it was simply refactored to remove A LOT of redundant code that was being replicated by each module:

- the module embed template no longer needs to define prev/next page footer
- the "tab_ajax_modulename.tpl" file should now be called "jrEmbed_item_list.tpl" (although it is backwards compatible with the old name)

For the most part it should be backwards compatible unless you're doing something crazy.

Again I apologize if you were not notified - it was brought up a week or so before we released and you should have been notified.

Zachary Moonshine:
Thanks Brian this all looks overwhelming at first glance but i see others doing it so it cant be that hard. Yes im aware i cant import everything but if i can give them something bad ass i am pretty confident most of them will have no issue helping me rebuild our community

I agree 100% - it gives you a chance to make something better :)

JR can be a little daunting right at first - I won't deny that - but it's very powerful, supremely configurable, and once you "see" how it works it will click into place for you. We've worked hard to be consistent with how things work in JR, so once you configure one module (for example) that's exactly how to configure all modules.

We're here to help too :)

Using Jamroom
