Comment box not displaying correctly for some users

Using Jamroom

Correct - you have to click the checkbox to get back to the form (since there may be additional elements in the form that need to be handled) - then submit the form like normal.

syntax error

Installation and Configuration

Because you are entering bad content into the editor - that is what that message is telling you. Your content must be valid template code (smarty) - which is basically HTML and smarty functions/variables. If you are entering Javascript you must have spaces around all brackets - { and } .

lornawebber:OK, I had an email notification to say that this forum post has been updated, but the comment is not here.

The comment is here - it's just you're not seeing due to caching. I'm looking into it - I believe I know what the root cause is and it comes down to needing to reset the forum view cache for users that are involved in a thread when a new post is added to a thread.

lornawebber:I understand that this grey box thing is the new mobile enabled text editor. Was not expecting that!

I have just used my iphone to put a comment on a group discussion and though it seemed to be sent, the comment has not appeared on the discussion (rather like the forum update).

Seems to be a fault there somewhere?

It sounds like the same caching issue. There have been some low level changes in caching recently as we update modules to try and be more "targeted" towards cache resets - as a system gets busier it becomes costlier and costlier to simply reset an entire profiles cache every time an item is updated. I think we're seeing the effect of that here, but I have to do some testing to be sure.

This is correct - this is the new mobile enabled editor in Jamroom Core 6.1.6. Your users will see this is they are using a mobile device or a table with a small resolution.

Ceri:And....please correct me if I'm wrong...if I elect to use PayPal as my payment gateway I can cancel my service with Foxycart?

Yes you can - as long as you have no subscribers using FoxyCart.

minor bug report

Using Jamroom

Not seeing any issues here. Have updated several of our hosting sites to the latest and it's all working. Note that if you have just enabled Redis it will take a bit for the sessions to be setup it Redis - it's not transferring existing (old) sessions to Redis from MySQL.

Bug In System Core Update 6.1.6b7

Design and Skin Customization

You need to refresh your browser - we've updated to TinyMCE 4.7.6 in this Core release - which includes a new editor for mobile - but if you see it blank like that just refresh your browser or reset your browser cache. I know a few users have seen this as well and we've tried to "bust" the cache for this release but some browsers just will NOT show the new editor until you refresh your browser or reset cache.

jrcore_cache gets very fragmented (and other db question)

Using Jamroom

Then Redis is either not running or not configured, or the info you entered is wrong.

soaringeagle:theres no documentation on how to set it up

There's not much to it. Click on "server browser" and add the local Redis server in - i.e.

127.0.0.1
6379

leave password blank for the local server.

Then in ACP -> Core enable Redis as the active data cache.

jrcore_cache gets very fragmented (and other db question)

Using Jamroom

soaringeagle:i noticed this has always been an issue but with the db being big it can be a big issue
jrcore_cache often is the only table fragmented if not the rest are a few k
but the cache table often has 800 megs of overhead and optimization can reduce the total db size by nearly 1/3

I'd recommend using the Redis cache module - I've just released the first non-beta version of it and it now handles multiple JR sites running in the same Redis server.
