Timeline Not Letting Me Turn Off Status Updates?

Hm.. I'm not really sure what you are trying to do. First you say you want to turn off timeline STATUS updates, and now you want to turn off Disqus for timeline entries? You jus said that you want to turn off the STATUS updates since people were using OTHER status updates to leave comments, instead of using Disqus. So I have no idea what you are trying to accomplish.

Zachary Moonshine:if disqus was able to be attached to status updates as a way to comment then it wouldnt matter really but since it isnt i figured just take the easy way out and just disable status updates

Each timeline entry has it's own unique URL that comments will appear on, so you should be OK there.

The timeline is central to the follow me skin - not sure if you can actually turn it completely off - especially for admin users. We can check it out though.

No issues here - you want to make sure you're not using any customizations to the jrAction or jrFollowMe jrAction templates.
