Host suggesting problem with .htaccess

Installation and Configuration

Hello, my site went down on Sunday whilst I was updating the item_detail.tpl for the YouTube module.

After saving the template and clearing the cache, I got a stripped down version of the site, some css, but not all of it. Did a full optimise modules to check nothing was up, and saw lots of updating to InnoDB messages going past. After that, the site was no better.

I changed skins to see if it was a skin issue, and on one version of the skin, the site did load (missing a couple of tweaks, obvs, but pretty much normal). Managed to get the site into maintenances mode.

Made a cup of tea, and when I got back to it, site wouldn't load at all. Could access my cpanel, though through my hosting provider, and all services seemed normal. Still couldn't load the site, but started getting a 502 error.

Griefed my hosting provider to no avail. Renamed the repair php file via ftp, and ran it to see if that would help. No change.

Finally got a response from Arvixe today, who have said:

I have checked and reproduced the issue from my end. Further, I could see that the issue seems to be with your ".htaccess" file.
Due some misconfiguration in .htaccess file, the requests were unable to serve appropriately.

Please verify the same from your end. If you have any other concern feel free to get back to us, we are happy to assist you. (Ends)

Now, I have looked at the htaccess file, and although I don't know what I'm looking for, it seems pretty normal. Michael put a redirect in there a couple of months ago to make sure the site was always using the www version, but that's been fine ever since. I took it out just in case, but no change.

I do have a parked domain - i.e. ourtownstory.co.uk is parked on top of myactualdomain.com , if that is relevant.

If anyone has any thoughts I would be very grateful. I'm supposed to be prsenting the site to some new users in person on Thursday, and at the moment I feel like a bit of a tool! Also, arvixe support is so slow, that I probably only have one more shot at getting a response before then, so anything I need to feed back to them needs to be super precise.

Ironically, the purpose of my meeting on Thursday is to attract some funding so that I can move to Jamroom servers!

Couple of gallery delete issues

Notifications sorted.

I think the delete buttons modification is something @paul came up with a couple of years back. I will continue delving. Starting to make sense...... :)

That could be it - I'll delve deeper there. Thank you for looking!

By the way, in the last week my menu items have acquired notification numbers for some reason that I'm struggling to understand!

I'm in a clone of Slate. Utterly forgot about recycle bin - never had to use it before. Think I'm pretty much up to date.

EDIT: I thought I was up to date but had missed 6.1.1. Updating now and will check again.

Have noticed a couple of deleting issues in the Gallery. Firstly, deleting an image from the image detail page doesn't delete it. The reload following the failed delete is the right page, but is missing the profile_header part.

Second is more of a functionality request; if you hit delete from the Gallery edit page (where you can add/remove images), you're not required to confirm. Hit delete and it's gone....for good. Could there be an 'are you sure?' Confirmation dialogue?

I just went for the burn and deleted Kent (as it didn't work anyway!). Reset the caches and visited the page, which gave me a Site Builder 'this page does not exist - would you like to create it?' message, so I was satisfied it was gone.

I created a new Kent profile - and, guess what - same thing! It behaves exactly the same as before, too - www works, but behaves as if you aren't logged in. I cannot work out for the life of me what is different about that profile than the others.

The search in the template file just reads:

{jrCore_list module="jrProfile" search1="profile_county = `$profile_name`" limit="2000" order_by="profile_place asc"}

and works on every other profile in that quota that I've tried. Baffling.

UPDATE: whilst trying to figure out the problem, I visited the Devon page, which loaded fine. I then loaded Kent, which didn't. I then hit the browser's back button, which took me to the Devon page, which is now broken, too....

UPDATE II: Added an error log entry

Aha - page renders fine if I'm logged out. Only happens when logged in. All other pages using that template work fine when I'm logged in. Trying to work out what could possibly be special about that one...
