Working on "look & feel" & eager for suggestions.

Ning To Jamroom

Hi Tatiana, I remember you from Ning...and your beautiful site too! You will love Jamroom. :)

What do you love about Jamroom 5 right now?

Off Topic

I especially love that come October, my Jamroom site will be about HALF the price of what I'd be paying if I had stayed on Ning.
With many times the level of customizability and potential.
And 100x the quality of service. ;D

Changing quota when Admin approved pending user

Using Jamroom

Yes Elise, Michael has outlined the shortcut you are looking for. No need for a 'pending' quota at all if the one quota you set for 'allow signups' is set for "Admin approval" anyway. You can eliminate the mostly redundant extra step there Just use the regular member as your 'signups allowed' but with Admin Approve checked.

Changing quota when Admin approved pending user

Using Jamroom

Holly that's right. In your Modules, under Users, then Quota Config...
Choose your quota in the drop down menu and set the little checkbox for each quota to "allow signups" or NOT. (Don't forget to 'save your changes' at bottom for each quota you configure there.)

On my site, i 'allow signups' for only my 'regular member' quota. That way new applicants are always automatically put into that quota. If I want to change them to another quota I can, but 99% of my members will be regular members so it's easier to have them be that automatically WHEN THEY JOIN MY SITE...unless I want to change their quota myself.

If you check the box to "allow signups" on more than one quota BTW, a new applicant will get a drop down with a choice as to which quota they want to belong to, and they can choose. Obviously, not advisable to check the box for Master admin this way... lol.

-Elise, I had the same question as Michael- why are you needing to 'change the quota to member' if they are automatically set as a member already? Doesn't seem to add up- are you sure you only have ONE signup quota enabled/checked?

Recycle bin - what is saved?

Using Jamroom

Control in what way?
What is the goal- to reduce the size of the recycle bin, or to make it easier to browse through?...

How do I remove items so they don't show in a profile "latest activity"

Using Jamroom

Good for you Les! :)

Elise, you might want to mark this thread 'solved' at the top if your original question got solved- it helps the JR team be more efficient in helping everyone. ;)

How do I lock a topic?

Using Jamroom

I think it's because many folks would assume that locking a discussion option would be found in the place where the admin can edit the discussion. It is, and they see it. Thus nobody posted a thread asking how to lock it...until now. ;)

How do I lock a topic?

Using Jamroom

I think it's because you've only been working a Jr site for a very short time. By the time I actually needed to lock a discussion, I had been on discussion edit pages plenty of times and had already seen it.

How do I lock a topic?

Using Jamroom

In the first post of any discussion, click on the Edit gear icon in that post, you will then see the checkbox to lock it.
