Question about private messages

Using Jamroom

Ah, didn't see that area Brian...it has a checkbox for "will accept private messages"...which I bet he had somehow unchecked. I assume it's checked (yes) by default...?
Thanks, I couldn't figure out where these settings were located. :)

Question about private messages

Using Jamroom

I have two members who are both 'following' each other.
Member A is trying to send a private message to member B, but gets this notice instead:
"The user you are sending to is not accepting Private Notes at this time."

I checked member B's notification settings, and they are all turned ON. Member B has no clue why Member A can't PM him, and they are asking me to help.
I can't find any privacy settings concerning something like this, even in my own profile settings.
Can you tell me what is causing this and possibly how to fix? Thanks

Problem using Change Item Owner in Group discussions

Using Jamroom

Douglas, how about if I open a support ticket and include the link to this thread with the screenshots and description? I will include my login info in the ticket. Thanks

Maybe it's good to have this thread here in case others are experiencing the same issue.

Problem using Change Item Owner in Group discussions

Using Jamroom

I'm still having problems with this. Am I even filling in the data field the right way? (the help popup doesn't seem to give much direction, and I'd like to change that too in language once I solve this mystery)

glitch when moving forum discussion to different forum category

Using Jamroom

That's the darndest thing Doug...I did this a couple times yesterday and got the same glitch and couldn't make it work. Now I just moved a couple other discussions and had no problem at all!
I think it may be because you showed up- the software got scared and quit misbehaving on me. Thanks for fixing that link too!

glitch when moving forum discussion to different forum category

Using Jamroom

Someone posted a new discussion in my "For Sale" Forums category. It belonged in my "General Dulcimer" forums category instead, so i clicked to edit it and I moved it. However, it is not actually moved, but shows as partially moved in one link but not in its real url location- see my screenshot for the details...
Just so you know, this used to function properly before my last JR updates.

Event Notification timing oddness

Using Jamroom

It does interest me! But I'm still in beginner level as to making code changes. The coding fascinates me and I've actually done a lot of minor site tweaking over the past several months ('mostly' successfully...lol), but my time and energies are just spread too thin over various projects, work, interests, and obligations.
In any case, I think the events firing is a rather convoluted concept when there are several factors all colliding with each other. Maybe I impress easy. ;) Thanks again!

Event Notification timing oddness

Using Jamroom

Oh boy, I'm SO impressed that you can wrap their brain around all that.
I have done the above and updated, and will ask my moderators to let me know the next time they get 'event coming soon' notifications. Meanwhile I'll mark this solved unless it misbehaves again. I set the notify time to 72 hours now (3 days).

I'm very grateful to you Michael- thank you for spending the time to figure this out. I know I could not have...well maybe a few years from now...maybe. ;)
