User Profiles - Data browser - Filter by email domain

Using Jamroom

Another 'lo tech' (and maybe slower) method which might be easy for someone like me who isn't very good at applying codes is: when in your User Account browser, click to export the .CSV file of users, then open in a spreadsheet like Excel... where you can use the excel "Find" function to find/highlight that domain name in the email address column.

help me fix a few links

Ning To Jamroom

Not totally sure if this is the problem, but... am I correctly seeing in those links you give that one of your member/usernames is: dave_i ? If so, user or profile names that contain an UNDERSCORE will behave as though they are invisible on your site. Go to that user's profile page and their "Account" TAB, remove the underscore from that member's name (you can replace it with a space), save with their new name, and things should then appear normally again on pages related to that member.

Isn't your site-wide forum 'owned' by a profile you created named "community"? If so, then the link you cite above for My Discussions should instead be: http://hypnothoughts.com/community/forum/my_posts
(UNLESS you are referring to a separate personal forum you created on your own profile only, your profile called Admin)

hypnoscott:
The hover doesn't work though, that only tells me if I've liked something, not who else has. My members say the same thing, and are requesting the list.

Don't hover- instead CLICK ON the actual NUMBER next to the Likes thumbs up hand icon. Then a list of who liked it will pop up.

Not sure if you guys can see this, but here's a thread from a few months ago on my site about this issue, perhaps it will help in some way:

I just added the "Like" function last month (without the 'dislike'), and my members really like it- it's adding lots of new activity. We LOVE it!

One thing though Scott- there's a little bug that won't be fixed until the current Beta JR is released- you should read this entire thread: https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/my_posts/36317/tweak-the-like-dislike-module

Did you get your Group Pages re-associated with their respective Groups after your Ning import? That's a little chore that we need to do by hand, but there is a JR tool to do it- as long as you know which group each page belongs in. You have that info from your ning site still?- or else if there aren't that many group Pages, you can remember which group each page belongs to?

Remember, the profile you created that 'owns' the site forums, you named that profile "community", so try:

http://hypnothoughts.com/community/forum/settings

(...that's what Douglas meant when he typed "PROFILE" in his link above.)
Nice looking site, by the way- you should put it in the JR Showcase. :)

AWS new longer EC2 Resource IDs...action required?

Using Jamroom

Hi, I got an email today from AmazonAWS concerning this. It read in part:

"Dear Amazon EC2 Customer,
In November, we announced that EC2 and EBS will have longer identifiers for instances, volumes, reservations, and snapshots to support the ongoing growth of Amazon Web Services. Starting today, you can opt into using longer EC2 instance and reservation IDs using APIs or the AWS Management Console. Note: Longer EBS volume and snapshot IDs will be available in April 2016.
From now until early December 2016, you can test your systems with the longer format and opt in when you are ready. From December, all new instances, reservations, volumes, and snapshots will be created with longer IDs. We strongly recommend testing your systems and opting in to the longer ID format across all of your accounts before December 2016. All AWS accounts created after March 7, 2016, will automatically default to longer instance and reservation IDs, with the option to request the original, shorter 8-character format if necessary."

Does this effect my Jamroom AWS S3 bucket backups? On my AWS dashboard, never see EC2 and EBS being used- only S3.

Do I need to go through the process as outlined on this page?:
https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/theyre-here-longer-ec2-resource-ids-now-available/
At the end of that page, it says:
"This blog post applies to all AWS regions and accounts. AWS accounts created on or after March 7, 2016 will default to longer instance and reservation IDs, and can be opted out if necessary.
After you have performed your testing and are satisfied that your tools, code, and applications work to your satisfaction, we recommend that you opt in for all of your AWS accounts before December 2016. This will give you confidence that no surprises will arise when the new identifiers become mandatory." There is more info here: https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/faqs/#longer-ids

It appears on my AWS dashboard that under EC2, I am using only a "default VPC security group" (in Oregon)- I have no idea what that is, and I wasn't even aware that I was "an EC2 customer" as I was called in the email. All I ever access is my JR site Bucket, via my S3 area. I feel clueless... =8-*

Do I need to do anything? Thanks!

question about "Last Login" date

Using Jamroom

michael:
Its safe to think that "Last Login" was the last time a member of your site looked at the site in a browser.

Not sure I understand all you wrote, but it sounds like good news then- like those people are actually visiting. Thanks Michael!
