DB backup/restore options

Using Jamroom

Hi, this issue seemed like it was going to be resolved, but then it didn't and the discussion was closed:
https://www.jamroom.net/the-jamroom-network/forum/new_posts/28954/add-function-to-db-backup-module
Is it possible to please get that 3rd restore option (modules and skins) added for this module, since we can back it up, but not restore it?
Thanks so much!

email notifications with pagination enabled issues

Ning To Jamroom

This issue is a real annoyance to all my members and especially to myself and my moderators, since we must get a lot of notifications. The more active my site is getting, the more frustrating this thing becomes. Every single time if it's in a thread that has multiple pages, when we get an email notifying us of a new post we have to laboriously navigate (see prior post above) to finally GET TO the post or thread we were notified about. The email link always takes you to the bottom of the 1st page of the thread no matter if the new post is on page 9. Members are getting confused, and if they are not confused they are annoyed.

There are other places on my site where this same thing happens, and it's driving us all slowly mad...but I'm trying to approach it as one specific spot to fix at a time- and the first place is in the email notifications as Soaring brought up in this thread.
Can this be corrected somehow please?

Soundcloud playback counts are skyhigh?

Using Jamroom

What about when it appears in activity feeds like on the site main index page, or on the site/audio page? Does it actually have to start playing to be counted?

Soundcloud playback counts are skyhigh?

Using Jamroom

I just got this from a member, and I'm wondering about it. There's no way 300 people have played his soundcloud clip in a couple hours on my site:
========================

Hi Strumelia,
I have noticed something that you may not be aware of regarding sound cloud links. Whenever I post a link, the number of plays reported on Sound Cloud jumps dramatically. Like into the thousands. I'm wondering if there is a "default play" setting on the new site that launches the sound cloud stream whenever users log in, or open the main page.
While I am flattered that my recording of Elk River Blues has gotten 9,200 plays since June 7, I find it a little hard to believe.
This is what happened when I linked my Shady Grove track today.

Feedback please for jamroom.net site flow

Using Jamroom

Last thing I'll say today-
Main page... what's one of the top 3 most awesome things about Jamroom?

The Jamroom Support Team!!!!!
Dont be shy- have something on your main page about "Our Support Team is second to none": Read what our users are saying..." and then link it to a page with quotes about the support service, from people like US- using our user names and a link to our live JR sites. Happy to add mine. Get a dozen of these customer happy quotes on one page for people to see and read.
Keep in mind that ning is dying a slow death from cutting off their customers...turning their backs on us all. We are looking for platform that has an active and present and caring customer support Team. Your main page has not a single word about that, yet you do it better than anyone on earth. It's a HUGE factor when people are considering a major site decision or site migration.

On the main page at top, the list across touting :
Blogs • Audio • Video • Galleries • Social • eCommerce • More

I'd suggest adding Forums, Events, and Groups...which are things Ning folks will be specifically looking for. Maybe put "Mobile-responsive" instead of the boring "More"

brian:
Strumelia:
I find it a little confusing figuring out the diff between "Site Showcase" and "Member Sites" Both pages are supposed to show off live JR sites, right? Why separate?

Member Sites = any JR User that is a member (i.e. any subscription) can "submit" their site to the Members site section - as long as it is a JR site that is not "under construction" we will activate it in the Member list.

Site Showcase - these are sites that we have actively solicited a quote/feedback from the user for the sole purpose of "showcasing" the site - i.e. it is by invitation.

Let me know if that helps.

Well yes that explains it to ME, but a visitor wouldnt know all that and as feedback, I meant that if it's confusing to me, then it's likely confusing to a visitor to Jamroom.net who wants to see examples of JR sites. :)

On this page: https://www.jamroom.net/ning-to-jamroom

The page has a dated look, which doesn't inspire confidence. The chunky bold titles??...whole page should look more modern and fresh.
But the biggest problem was that it took me a while to realize that those big green clunky boxes were actually LINKS to go find out about each subject. I thought they were just statements. The "let us do it for you'/import service shouldn't be 'just another green box/statement', since so many ningers need that help and assurance- I feel it should have more importance on that page.

I find it a little confusing figuring out the diff between "Site Showcase" and "Member Sites" Both pages are supposed to show off live JR sites, right? Why separate? And on the jamroom.net page, the only link at bottom is the Site Showcase...which only has 4 sites..three of which are very 'guy/blackbackground/muscular looking. And on that page...a tiny lionk at right to 'member sites'.
Reasons to not combine the two pages into one location...? It's a little confusing, and new people are always looking for those examples of jamroom sites.

Cool Douglas!
I know a little html already.
Would you suggest I start by looking through their css, or their w3css first? (w3 is the mobile responsive i assume?)
