Trying to get a (scrollbar)* slider on Activity Feed

Using Jamroom

Perrie, I think there are many times when you are simply using the wrong terms when asking questions, so it keeps you from getting relevant answers for a good while until that gets sorted out. Like in another recent thread you called Links "Tabs" for example. Or your thread wanting to "make a login page" when really you just wanted to get your Navigation bar to show the typical Login link. Sliders/scrollbars... Not trying to be critical- but I see that a lot of time goes by because people are mistaking what you are talking about for other stuff.
There are some great online sites that define basic website building terminology for beginners- I make use of them sometimes myself. Do a Google for them and browse to find a couple favorites you like. :)

Perrie, .css files are code files, not templates. .css files can still be within your active skin folder, but a ".css" file is not one of the templates. Templates end in ".tpl"

Feedback please for jamroom.net site flow

Using Jamroom

I just posted over on Ning Creators forum an online gallery of screenshots I took comparing side by side 16 different pages/features of my old Ning network to my NEW Jamroom network. Personally, I think the ning/Jamroom differences are rather dramatic in the screenshots. You can use these images in any way you like to attract more ning refugees. Maybe a little 'Comparing Ning/Jamroom' section or page in the "member sites" area? You can make your own page instead of them instead of them being in my Picasa album if you want, too.

As Gary implies, there is no substitute for 'visuals'. Pictures are worth a thousand words, and you can't argue with them. Just a thought.

If I was a FB member, i'd be all over the place talkin about Jamroom... but I'm not on FB. Somebody should be doing it though.

Pending user count

Design and Skin Customization

In the Dashboard, in the Pending users TAB, see if they can click on the "Modify" button to the right of the user in question- this will take you to their profile page (still inactive) and you can click on their settings gear and Account TAB to see their sign up information.
I wasn't sure about your question exactly, but is that what you are looking for? In their "Account" TAB, you can change their password too if you need to in the future. I've needed to do that quite a few times for ning members having trouble logging in for any reason. Be sure to 'save'.

email notifications with pagination enabled issues

Ning To Jamroom

This is something that is causing a whole lot of annoyance on my network for all members, for me as well when responding to my many daily email notifications. Please see my longer post above that starts with "I just want to be sure that...."'
Getting this fixed would be a big relief!

I plan on adding my feedback...but first thing is to 'follow' this discussion so I can keep up with it. :)

Making a log in/ sign up page

Using Jamroom

Yes, I have just the simple bar of links across the top of my site on every page.
That's how my members either Log IN, or Create a new Account (sign up).
My main page has various blocks of content, like videos, forums, groups, photos...that one can click to. But there is always the top 'navigation bar' of links to the main site areas: Members, Forums, Photos, Videos, Groups, your own name/profile page, Login, etc.

Once you are a member and logged IN, you then do not see those two (login & create account) links- they are replaced by your member name link, and hovering on your name link then gives a drop down menu to your account settings, INbox, LogOUT, etc. Also if you merely click on that name link once you are logged in, it takes you back to your own profile page...after say youve been browsing the site.

Ok, so you just want a simple navigation bar with links across the top of your site.
(and those are links, not tabs)
And you want the "Login" and "Create Account" links there (along with the other site links you want in the nav bar) in the top bar, on every page of your site.

Correct?

Oh, right. Those big clunky 'sign up' blocks like on some ning sites.

hmm... Perrie said above that she saw it on my site- but all I have is the simple classic Navigation bar with Links along the top of every page, here in my screenshot. Hence my confusion.

I thought site builder lets you create your top links bar for the main page?
