RE Ning Membership Data .csv

Ning To Jamroom

Ceri, Jamroom has a great new module for changing the 'owner'(creator) of various items on your site, including Groups, Forum discussions, photos, Group discussions, etc:

That's a whole different subject for a differnet thread maybe SE?
(I have a "load more comments" thingy on my profile pages)

Making a log in/ sign up page

Using Jamroom

perrie:
You had a tabs that said "log in" and "create account". I couldn't see much more than that, since you can see only your front page.

Hmm...that's just the top Navigation Links Bar of the site. I thought everyone had that?

Trying to get a (scrollbar)* slider on Activity Feed

Using Jamroom

Perrie, you mean a scrollbar, not a slider.
I just want to add that yes it can be done to module 'blocks' of content, like on the main page. It's not a big thing to do, but it does require a bit of CSS code to be added in the right spot, and then updated/saved in the skin's templates -on the server if you are using SB...in the skin template if you are not using SB and are working directly with templates. It's not some huge insurmountable thing, in any case.

Where is the Installation Documentation?

Profile Badges

Thanks-
Last question before I take the plunge....
the poster there went through some changes in the process during that thread. I'm a bit confused: did it wind up that he had to create a badge template as he at first did?- or was that not needed and is included in the module, so he later didn't use the template he created?
He said towards the end: "My badges.tpl file looks like this." - is that the template he had to create, or was his badges.tpl already included already in your module? I can tweak codes by using this method I believe, but I have not figured out how to create templates on my own yet.
Thanks!

Hmm...Ive never used SB, and I use Ningja skin, and I've never noticed any sliders anywhere. Can you affirm what you mean exactly by sliders, Perrie? Ive heard people define it in various ways.

Private Notes- send to multiple followers?

Using Jamroom

My members are asking if they can do what we used to be able to do in the ning private message system- address and send a private message/note to more than one person on our "friend/follower" list. We had our friend list show in a drop down, with checkboxes next to all our 'friend list' names. you could then check just the one or several. Replies would give the option to check/uncheck the original message recipients as well.

Could this multiple recipient option be added to the Private Notes module in Jamroom?, or is this unrealistic?

email notifications with pagination enabled issues

Ning To Jamroom

I just want to be sure this thread is about the same issue I am getting member complaints about:

When we are 'following' a discussion and we get an emailed notification of a new post in it, if we click the link in the email, we are not taken to the new post as we should be...instead we are always taken to the 'reply' textbox at the BOTTOM of the discussion's FIRST page...even if the thread is 30 pages long and the new post is on page 30.

Then people are like, huh? where's the new post? They scroll up, see the beginning of the discussion at top, notice the posts are from last year, they scroll back down to where they started, find the pagination links at the very bottom, and they wonder if they need to go to the 'last' page...click to the last page where you wind up on the top of the last page of the discussion, then scroll down to the bottom again...and Oh!-THERE is the new post, and a reply textbox below it.

Despite my even KNOWING about it all, I find myself slogging through this procedure over and over myself. My members are being very patient about it, but I really would like to get this fixed up. :)
We need to make the link in the "new post in a discussion you are following" email notification take people directly to that New Post.

Oh, and- this should apply to email notificatins for both Forums discussions AND Group discussion we may be 'following'. Thanks!
