Merchandise Store

Suggestions

Personally I think having the basic site builder in polished shape is more important than just about anything.

Out-of-the-Box Setups

Suggestions

Yep, I bought their premium level (self-hosted version, and includes mobile apps and added support) and it's now working fine in my JR site. I'm not live yet but my moderators and I tested it. CC instructions are a bit rough, but Soaring helped by telling me WHICH template you are supposed to add their footer code to (your skin "meta.tpl"...like who would know that and why do they just say "add the code to your template" ?)

HELP

Using Jamroom

You can add pages most easily by using the Jamroom Site Builder tools. But of course you need to have the basic components of a jamroom site up and installed on a server first.

How to use the jrGravatar module to provide a default profile image?

Using Jamroom

So....when 'require image' is checked, the user is still allowed to join, but simply does not appear on the main page when they perform actions or add content? How is that 'requirement' explained to the person going through the signup process?

Every profile can just have one quota, right?

Using Jamroom

Try this-
On your actual online site, there should be a link for "ACP" at the top (this link is not visible to regular members, only to admins). The drop down in that --> go to USERS, then from there you'll see where you can Browse Users, Browse Profiles, and Browse Quotas (the various roles that site users can be set as).
Incidentally, if you simply click on ACP, you get to here: http://yoursite.com/core/admin/global where you can get the hang of where all your skins and modules are, and change some settings.
I hope this all still applies even through you are using site builder and I'm not, or else... just ignore my instructions! =8-*

Love that JR checks audio and video while I sleep !...

Using Jamroom

Just noticed in my log that while I snooze peacefully, JR is quietly working in the background checking and REMOVING from my site youtube videos that no longer exist on YT. I can also tell it how many videos to check per day...I have it currently set to 50 per day since it doens't really need to check all my 2000 videos every day over and over.

I love this! On Ning, the defunct video remains on the site until the member or an admin purposely deletes it. It can sit there for months or years, with members clicking on it only to be shown the YT message "This Video no longer exists!" And unless some member reports that to me (which they usually don't bother), I'm none the wiser. Ugh.

I lovelovelove Jamroom! :D

Three quick questions about Groups

Ning To Jamroom

Thanks Michael. I have like 62 groups, about 50 of which I created. My members are not allowed to create or edit new groups, so it'd be me, as Admin, who controls such things on my site. I only want to hide the Group Comment Wall for maybe 3 or 4 of my Groups.
So, the first part of your answer to #2 sounds like the easiest.

As to clearing out the group comment wall on occasion, I am guessing i'd only need to do that about once a year (and I've already done this housecleaning over on my ning site, so they are trimmed down already)...so thank you I will contact you when I need to start doing this, maybe a year from now. :)
