past Events showing not working right for me on home page widget

Using Jamroom

This used to work properly, but no longer does...
I have my Events module set to show past events up to 5 days after their start date.
Right now in my events page https://fotmd.com/event , I have the Hindman event at top showing properly (it's start date was April 8 and today is the 11)
However, on my site's Home page in the Events widget (called Coming Events), that Hindman event disappeared right on April 8, and it should not have disappeared for another 5 days.
I don't see any JrEvent... modified templates in my custom active skin, but not sure where else to look.

I have another question on how to modify these showing choices, but first I need to fix this little glitch. Thanks
So, not sure why that has stopped working.

Cannot add recent Soundcloud clips, old SC clips can be reloaded fine

Using Jamroom

Paul it seems to be working correctly now on my FOTMD site.
Thank you so much! I have several grateful members who are quite active on my site who use SC to participate in various ways. :D

Cannot add recent Soundcloud clips, old SC clips can be reloaded fine

Using Jamroom

I just had another FOTMD.com (regular) member write me who is having the same problem on my site.

The same issue happens on my other JR site (pennywhistleclub) as well.

Cannot add recent Soundcloud clips, old SC clips can be reloaded fine

Using Jamroom

Hi, I have two moderators who have been unable to add recent soundcloud clips to my site (FOTMD.com). It seems they have no trouble adding any older SC clips, but clips that have been created over the past two or three weeks are giving a jamroom error of: "Unable to extract ID from URL, or an invalid SoundCloud ID". This holds true even if we test by trying to upload each others' SC clips, so it's not a problem with our computers.

For example, if you go to my moderator Dusty's SC page:
https://soundcloud.com/dusty-turtle
and try to add his 6 month old SC clip "One Wife is Enough For Me"... it will load fine. But trying the same with his two most recent clips (both created less than 2 weeks ago), and you will get the JR error message.

My site is up to date and the integrity check of all SC clips has been run, and System Check is all green light and my SC API that has always worked is still in place.

I don't have SC clips that I can run tests with, but Dusty graciously told me i could test all I like with his SC clips... and I get the same results that he is getting- his SC clips created over the past two or three weeks will give the error message and won't be added to my site.

The same is true of my moderator Robin Thompson:
https://soundcloud.com/robin-thompson-5
Her "Road to Beech Grove" from a month ago and all earlier clips load fine on my site, but her 3 more recent clips give the JR error message.

This would be a significant loss, as many of my active members use SC to add music to my FOTMD.com site.

BTW, while testing, I realized that a member cannot load a SC clip twice- JR will d=correctly identify it as a duplicate and prevent it... however if Dusty loads his SC clip, I can also load the same clip- JR will see the two as not duplicates simply because two different members added the same clip. No problem with that, it just helps to know it while testing this. :)
Hopefully this is a fixable issue and not one that signifies the Death of SoundCloud for my site!

Adding non-binary to gender choice in user signup

Using Jamroom

I do like to have gender as one of the signup questions on my site- it helps me when moderating, or in protecting vulnerable members, and sometimes helps me detect spammers (who so often identify themselves as female and from a large city when applying for membership).
Lately I've had a few folks join who may not feel as welcome if presented with only male/female options when joining my site, so I added a third option of "non-binary".

To do this, go to your site's signup page: yoursite.com/user/signup
Then click the Form Designer button.
If you already have Gender as one of your signup questions, add the non-binary to the bottom here:
m|Male
f|Female
n|Non-binary

You could add other different choices for your members as well, as well as "I prefer not to say".

I have the field type set to Radio button. (like a round checkbox)
In the "sub-label" textbox near the top, I also added the following:
(will not be publicly visible on your profile)
That sub-label is important as it reassures new members that their gender will not be visible to the other members or the browsing public.

Sound Cloud?

Ning To Jamroom

Just curious since I don't keep up on these things- any idea of what people will be using on a music site instead of Soundcloud, in the future? (not wanting to have my members always uploading all their audio files directly to my site either)
Like the audio clip version of Vimeo or Youtube...

ERROR - Profile Images and icons since last update

Using Jamroom

Hi, I just applied all the recents updates on my pennywhistleclub .com site, and am experiencing the same black and white generic profile images as Ken above was. I followed Paul's instructions and reloaded the image support module and cleared cache etc, but that did not solve.
I should note that years ago I REPLACED the generic image on my server that was called "default.png" with my own custom image that I also called "default.com". That has worked fine until now, and I know my custom .png is still there on the server where i put it- have not moved anything. But now after the updates the generic image is showing for members who have not uploaded their own avatars.
What to do now? (it's only happening on my pennywhistle site which is the site I updated as a test. I have not yet updated my more important site fotmd .com yet.)
p.s. here attached is the custom profile avatar I have as "default.png" on my server for that site...
