Questions about simple chat

Using Jamroom

Perrie, the JrChat has little arrows near the bottom to enlarge or shrink the chat window when it's in use. Do you not see that? It also has a 'new window' option there with the arrows.

Jamroom 6.1 has been released!

Announcements

Thanks! :)
I'm assuming that will work for all types of videos- uploaded, YT, and Vimeo.

Jamroom 6.1 has been released!

Don't I recall 'something' about the Video module or YT module that we have to do as well? - something to run on your existing videos after doing this 6.1 update? My memory is fuzzy, it was mentioned two or three months ago I believe.

Avatar mix ups

Using Jamroom

Perrie did you clear your browser images cache and your browsing history? Try doing that - in Chrome it's under "more tools"/clear browsing data.

Also do:
in your JR site go to ACP->system tools->reset image caches
also do another ACP->system tools->reset caches just for the heck of it.

Then close and restart your browser, check the results.

Moving the up button

Using Jamroom

I am thinking Perrie wants to move the 'scroll to top' button?
she said:
"Opps should have named that moving the up button. My bad."

Moving the up button

Using Jamroom

Perrie, did you download the actual footer.css file form your server, using SFTP? And then open it on your computer to see it?
Because if you are merely looking at you site skin via ACP and the 'Style' Tab and looking at the code in the footer section, you're not going to see all the code actually in footer.css file on your server.

Remove "ABOUT" title?

Ning To Jamroom

Alexander, if you want to change the "About" text to say something different rather than say nothing at all, keep in mind that it's actually a master admin Blog category post (at least I believe this is true for the Ninja skin). So, you can go to you master admin profile page, click on the BLOG TAB at top of your profile, and then choose the About post and click the gear to Edit it- you can edit the title there. I believe your site will work the same way as mine.

Deleting Members After Export

Using Jamroom

Paul helped me do that a couple years ago when i migrated from Ning.. I can't recall now how it was done but the JR team will chime in for sure here!

Just wondering though - did you send out additional 'last chance' password reminders using the handy "Send Password" TOOL in the Ning Import module? Using it an additional time or two will send out the password login reminder again to all imported ning users who have NOT yet logged in... and will NOT send the reminder to those who already have logged in at least once. I actual;ly sent out these passwords reminders 4 times over a period of three months after migrating... after that I finally deleted all who had still not logged in. But each time I sent out the new batch I got another couple dozen people finally log in.

Also, if you decide to send one last login/password reminder to these people before deleting them, you can EDIT the password login generated email that the tool sends out... go to the Templates TAB of your Ning Import module and EDIT the email_login_message.tpl to make the message say anything you like to them.
You can include a part on whether you will help them log in or help with their password if they encounter problems. If they say their auto-password isn't working for them, you can then go into their account and change their password to something easy and send it to them. Once they successfully log in, they can again change their password to their choice if they like.

Help needed for sign up questions

Perrie, your screenshot is from your System Core quota config. Paul means you to look in your Users module at quota config, and turn off signups for that quota there:

-oops, posting at same time as Douglas... ;)

Help needed for sign up questions

Using Jamroom

Go to any member's profile page (pick a recent one, not an old Ning member, if you no longer have to deal with importing ning stuff for new signups)... and click to their "Account" TAB.
On the Account tab, click "Form Designer" button.
In the from designer area, note that their are two options in the top dropdown menu: User Account, and User Signup.
I think you want to edit the Signup fields page, so click to that.
The URL for this would be
yoursite.com/user/form_designer/m=jrUser/v=signup
